+ Good value, large screen and decent performance. I'm actually not sure about the battery life since it hasn't left the house yet and gets plugged in regularly. Recommended

- Quite big and heavy- but I like the large screen

+ A very compent overall package, particularly for those with multi-media applications in mind. An impressive screen, and a good, easy-on-the-eye smooth silver finish.

- The keyboard - which is delightfully full size - can become a little slippery with prolonged use, but this is very much a minor niggle.

+ Large screen gives this laptop more desktop space than most people will ever need. Fast disk, good memory performance, and dual core cpu, enough to keep windows running for the forseeable future. Dedicated graphics pack some punch, although in some games texture issues exist - might be drivers?!? Nice to have bluray drive - movie playback is a bit of hastle the first time - many updates to the HP installed software are required. Once sorted movies look good, HDMI port means you can dump the video into a BIG TV! Using the media remote control which comes with the laptop effectively gives you a bluray player as well as a laptop. Built in webcam is ok, once again let down by cruddy preinstalled software. Sound is ok, helped by the massive sub built into the base of the laptop...

- Contrast on the screen isn't great, gradient fills show as stripes unless viewed from the 'perfect' angle. I'm not sure why laptops have gone the glossy screen route, it means you can only use them in ares where ambient light is low - my last laptop has a matt finish on the screen and was much better! The case is glossy as well, fingerprints ahoy!
Lots of unessecary software preinstalled. HP games being one - lets you play a few times and then wants to charge you to play - uninstalled that straight away. Annoying that you have to burn your own restore disk - just include one in the box!?! I'm waiting for Windows 7 to come out - at which point I'll wipe it clean, removing all of the annoying software.

+ Large screen, reasonably fast

- It crashes or fails to load quite a lot. The clicker on the keyboard (instead of a mouse) looks like it's permanently stuck down - it seems to work ok, though - the design seems very tinny I am worried that buying it was a mistake - I thought it would be "as new". But so far there's nothing really to complain about, just an uneasy feeling
