Good points:
This laptop is well specified and one hopes that the HP name will mean longevity
Bad points:
The quality feel of the laptop is very poor , the keyboard layout is very dificult to get used to. Made in China and I dont think to a high quality standard (the feel of the keyboard is cheap, the mouse touch pad has a mind of its own and the cooling fan is exceptionally noisy in comparison to the other laptops in the household) Our Fujitsu-Seimans is made in China but feels more robust and the keyboard and mouse are a quality feel. 2x Samsung laptops are excellent quality in comparason. My mistake I feel is that I bought this HP laptop on the web without trying one in store, it is not a cheap laptop to buy but I am disappointed with the purchase. Advise you try before you buy, The Samsung and Sony were top of my selection list and I now regret that I did not choose either one.

Good points:
This is my second ever laptop purchase, my trusty old one lasted 9 years! Moving on, the HP Pavillion Laptop is excellent! The speed of internet access, booting up and shutting down is very fast. The keyboard is nice to handle but took some getting used to as you would expect from different laptops. The screen is perfect and very bright being just the right size for me. The amount of software pre-installed on the machine is very good although not to everyone's taste - you can remove what you don't need. Not had the chance to use the graphics card to its potential as of yet and to see the true performance of the machine. So far so good overall, very pleased with my purchase.
Bad points:
The only bad point I would say was on unpacking the laptop from the box, the underside panel was not fixed properly so had to unscrew it and fit it properly. Perhaps just a one off but not a major issue.

Good points:
Sleek and stylish design, with a powerful processor that doesn't slow you down. Not too heavy either for its size, and the quality of the built in webcam is brilliant, no lag at all.

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Very user friendly, nice appearance and design, excellent features for the price. Also so easy to set up and start using instantly.
Bad points:
There are only 2 bad points I have discovered as yet, the mouse pad is very hard and noisy when you click it, this can be annoying and also don't know if it's just me but when I go to click the left pad I almost always end up clicking the right pad instead, think the sensors are positioned a little too close together, although it could just be that it is a slightly different lay out to my last lap top. Having said all this, I love this laptop and would definitely recommend it.
