The laptop itself was in immaculate condition, considering it was refurbished. Excellent keyboard including number pad and screen size is perfect. Great memory space, is equipped with the standard packages (and the usual 60 day try-outs for Norton and Office). On the internet it operates at a good speed and the DVD player works a treat. To be honest for the price I paid I didn't think the laptop would be this good - I am very happy with that I got. I would definitely recommend a refurbished laptop to a friend. I'm also a bit of a techno-phobe but it's so easy to use and even my I.T. savvy boyfriend is impressed with this laptop considering how little I paid.
-
Initial set up was long (over an hour!) as the laptop had pre-installed packages that acitvated when I first switched it on. Laptop is a little bulky but it isn't brand new so not really a problem for me.

The touch pad mouse is unusable; it just flies off all over the place regardless of what you do. I actually prefer using a USB mouse anyway, but it just makes it less convenient if you wanted to use it on the move.

Personally I dislike all the pre-installed stuff but I can see that it may be useful for some people. Also, be warned, the laptop is pretty weighty.

Worth the money since it has the GeForce card, and it's AMD dual core! Didn't expect to get something like this for the price I was looking at.

Battery life runs down pretty quickly, especially if you're doing something, but 3 hours isn't too disasterous! Not a fan of widescreen or onboard sound, but I can make-do happily with this laptop.

Very reasonable price, seperate numerical keypad, mouse pad has vertical and horizontal scrolling bar, good sensitivity and easy to use. Screen size is very good. I also bought my daughter a slightly smaller and cheaper HP model pleased with both. Performance very pleased.
-
Power connector, I wish they would put a bit more thought in to the positioning of this and consider using an angled connector as I expect over time this might become a weak point if you don’t ensure that it is supported to avoid strain on it. Minor niggle really but could be important over time.

A great all rounder, I use mine to play a few games, watch DVD's and all the other usual stuff. Having the HDMI output to plug a cable (not included) directly into your TV is simple and works great. It is not too noisy when it gets hot, the exhaust vents are underneath it so you are able to use it on your lap if you don't mind shifting most of the laptop onto one leg.
-
A clip on the underside of a key cover, near the arrow keys, was broken when it was delievered but over all this was not a major issue.

Good graphics card plus plenty of power/ram for games. Like the inbuilt webcam. All basic software needed included. Battery life OK. Just about loud enough to watch movies on.
-
Not keen on the shiney screen - too much light is reflected which makes viewing it harder especially for longer periods.
Need explanation on how to use the system backup facility or produce a system backup DVD- this should be included even with a recon unit I feel.
