+ Great print quality. Even photos print to a very high standard. The initial purchase price is within the range affordable even by a personal (non-business) users.

- The unit is quite bulky and heavy. The toner cartridges that were supplied with the printer are not full and ran out of toner only after printing 100 sheets.

+ Setting up the printer was straightforward and I have had no compatibility issues at all

- Printing photos with entirely accurate brightness and colour is going to require some fiddling, but this only really applies to evening photos

+ Quite compact, reasonably easy to set up (on a mixed network of Windows PC, Laptop and Mac Desktop computers.) using the supplied software; runs on Windows XP, Vista and Mac OS X (10.2.8 - 10.5.5). Manual duplex option surprisingly useful and easy to use. Too early to say much about the toner usage. Reasonable prints of colour photos achieved on plain paper, haven't tried photo-paper yet.

- Sometimes a little bit slow to start up from idle (though subsequent prints are quicker), initialisation and calibration routines can kick in at the most inconvenient time.
