+ the large drum is excellent. Clothes come out clean and there are plenty of cycles to choose from. I even managed to wash a wool blanket with success!

- cycle times are quite long. The wool wash doesn't always rinse very well

+ Cracking value for money. Has all important features with good economy cycles. Good size drum and quiet spin cycles. Clothes go in dirty and come out smelling beautiful and virtually dry after a 1400rpm spin. All in all, very pleased with our buy.

- Not as quiet as direct drive promises but nevertheless very quiet indeed. Haven't found fault with the machine yet.

+ Easy to use, you can set it up once and forget about it, remembers those settings for each subsequent use. Spin speed is excellent, clothes come out much drier, drum capacity is huge plus the door folding back flat is a real bonus for ease of access.

- Some people may find the lack of a hot feed disappointing, but this seems to be the way all machines are now coming, not just this one. Otherwise haven't found any yet, now been in a month and all ok

- It is a bit noisy when spinning, but it is in an outside utility room, so this is not an issue for me.

+ GIVES GOOD STANDARD OF WASH AND SPIN ON MOST PROGRAMMES.

- WOOL CYCLE HAS LEFT SOAP ON GARMENTS USING POWDER DETERGENTS. MUST USE WOOL DETERGENT TO AVOID THIS.
WOULD PREFER BETTER WORDING ON PROGRAMME DESCRIPTIONS.

- some programmes dont work in combination with the eco cycle, so it just needs a bit of getting used to

+ Plenty of different combinations to suit most laundry loads. Have been doing washing for almost 40yrs & now use only 3 programmes - 30deg/1200spin for everyday items. 30deg/800spin for 'handwash' items & 60deg/1400spin for towels & bedding. Machine is much quieter than my previous Hotpoint & gets clothes very clean & almost dry, even hubby's boiler suits! Very pleased with it.

- The machine is cold fill only, & heats water up to correct temp. by electricity presumably to cut down on fuel bills.
However as we have a combi boiler which heats water as it goes through the boiler & doesn't store hot water in a tank I wonder whether it will actually save us money on our fuel bills. Time will tell.

+ Very easy to use. Door unlocks as soon as washing is finished, alot better than waiting for a minute or two. I now nearly always use the 30 degree wash as it takes as long as the 40 degree wash. My old machine used to take nearly 2 hours on a 30 wash, so I didn't use it. So now I can be more energy efficient! There are also a good selection of wash, spin and temperature programmes. My machine also looks good! I am very pleased with my purchase and I hope it will last for many years. Thank you Hotpoint.
