+ It looks good in my kitchen and is very quiet. Lots of different settings to wash clothes. On the 1600 spin the towels and bed clothes are almost dry when taken out of machine. I am pleased with the overall features of the machine and I hope it will be as reliable as the last washing machine I had.

- Sometimes I need to do a do a fast spin (1600) just for a few moments but I can not shorten any spin time. If the machine had this facility, it would be good.

+ Being able to reduce spin speed and temperature, therefore reducing cycle times is brilliant.

- The instructions tell you to place the side of the machine on the polystyrene lid whilst removing the base packaging. Doing this tends to damage the side of the machine because the lid tends to bend the casing inwards and the wooden slats scratch the paintwork as well. This instruction needs to be removed.

+ Really quiet, to the point that it keeps making me jump when it does make a slight noise as it changes through the functions. Child lock is great and the handle is really good design so that there is no way that I (or the kids) can pull it off (like I did with my last one). Also the delayed cycle is great so that you can wake up in the morning and its ready to unload. Highly recommend it to all busy parents out there.

- Its a shame that you shouldn't put more than 3kg load in for the fast 30 minute wash.

+ excellent , quiet and efficient , bigger drum means less washes ! hubby's idea to get a bigger drum and I was a bit sceptical but it really has saved time and effort and hopefully should mean cheaper bills too !

- cant think of any , the start delay is hourly , half hourly would be better , ( although I havent read up yetr to see if this can be changed ! )

- However, the spin only cycle can only be used on the slowest and fastest speeds. Also the cycles are very long - even the time saver cycle is well over an hour on 40 degrees. Options could be more wide ranging.

+ The drum really is huge which was what we were most interested in. The machine runs very quietly - to the point where I did go and check a few times to see if it was still working! The digital display is extremely easy to understand and the programmes are straight forward - all in all very easy to operate.

- It's a shame the door cannot be attached to open either way but other than that I have no other bad points.

+ Lots of different features, extremely quiet, even on 1600 spin, looks great.

- No rinse hold, and if you just wanted to rinse and spin it take as long as a normal wash load.

+ This is a really nice looking machine. It's exceptionally easy to program and the display shows exactly which one you're choosing and how long the cycle will be. The time saver option cuts a good few minutes off the times especially if used with the mini load function. It's very very quiet whilst washing. It washes really well and with the 1600 spin, the clothes are almost dry when they come out! I wanted a start delay function and this is also very easy to use. Overall I love it and would recommend it to anyone.

- The only negative thing I would say is that the 1600 spin is very noisy and shakes the house whilst in action. However, I'm happy to put up with this for the few minutes necessary, especially as the rest of the wash is more or less silent and the clothes/towels etc are almost dry afterwards!

+ Takes a good size load, is very quiet and cycle times are reasonable - it also has a delay setting, so can be set to finish when I get home from work, and clothes not be sat damp all day.

+ Had it a month and would definitely recommend it. Large drum is good for family size wash, high spin speed means drying times quicker - great if you have no outdoor drying space. Easy to use, lots of programme options with variable temp and spin speed options on most programmes. Very quiet wash cycle.

- Noisy on full spin speed and needs to be be wedged in but I think you get that with most machines. (my old Bosch was like that on 1100 spin!)

+ This machine is fantastic! It is so easy to use, the wash cycles are great, you have options to reduce times, do small loads, delay the start time and lots of other features! It is really quiet when it is in full spin. The 1600 spin means a lot of items come out the drum almost dry, and I love the digital display that tells me how long the cycle has left to run.

+ It is very quiet even on the fast spin, It does look a bit complicated to use when you first look at it but it is actually quite simple. I did read some of the reviews on this machine before I decided to buy it and some of them were saying that you could accidentally lean against the machine and push some of the buttons like the on-off with out realising but there is a child lock button witch at first I thought was the door lock but you have to press it for two seconds it then deactivates all of the control buttons including the on-off.
I have always had Hotpoint washing machines three in total and that's over twenty two years of almost every day use! So if you want a quality washing machine that will give years of trouble free service then I would recommend a Hotpoint.

- can be noisy on a wooden floor and some vibration at speed. tending to make more noise now that it's a few month's old. Mildew build up in soap dispensor and had this before with a cold fill machine so need to clean out frequently.

+ Large drum - I can get a lot of washing done in a small space of time. I can get a single quilt in there! The spin cycle leave clothes only damp which is good for drying time.
The 30 min cycle is good for towels.

- The cycles do seem longer than my previous machine, but its worth it for the large drum.
Dont really use all of the features such as wool cycle and silk/delicates - although useful in the future.
Not too sure about eco cycle which is cold water..

One good point is you can reduce the time of the washing cycle, plus the heat with the temp button, so you are not wasting too much electricity. Good size drum which is needed with a family, got a good spin on it clothes don't take much drying, but once again too noise for me, I like the colour is alot better I've always had white in the past, perfer the silver

- Bought it as it said it was a low on noise when working NOT SO, it's no different to the machines I had in the past, my mum has an AEG and it is very quiet when washing and spinning, sorry but you did ask.

+ It's a great washing machine that has a big drum size - just right for families! Energy efficient too! Another fab feature is the way it tells you how long the wash is going to take on the digital screen. All in all a fantastic machine! I'm extremely pleased with it's performance!

- Some of the cycles are very long however there are plenty of programs to choose from and a time saver button which helps.

+ Its very easy to use, looks great and is largely very quiet. Towels in particular come our with the exact texture that I like.

- The spin cycle is a bit noisier (but the rest of the time its soooo quiet you wonder if you actually switched it on). The standard cycles are a bit long winded

+ I spent a lot of time trying to decide which machine to buy, I was replacing a Triple A rated Hoover which had broken down for the second time in 18 months so I was keen to find one that would match what I had but would hopefully last longer but not cost the earth.
This machine has been brilliant so far, with the large load and 1600 spin it is great. It is very simple to use, the cycle times aren't bad either a coloureds wash taking 1hr25. It is so quiet when running and the spin is fairly quiet too.
The programmes are really easy to use and it is good that you can adjust the temperature and spin speed on each wash and the timer count down is helpful.
I am pleased with my purchase and as long as it doesn't breakdown I will continue to be - Oh and the 5year parts warranty is a bonus.

- You still have to load it, empty it, put the washing on the line, pick it in and iron it - shame about that bit!!
