Hotpoint RFA52 Reviews: Tall, White fridge freezer

+ i like the design of it but freexer department is a little bit small for me as we do the whole shopping all at once and can't always get all the freezer stuff in.

+ BIIIGGG....well, compared to our last one...good freezer space, ice cube thingys are a bit fiddly. Fridge is good cold even on the lowest setting...my electricity meter has stopped whizzing round now.

- Flippin' hard to open but not really bad I guess. Looks a bit complicated to swap doors so didn't bother, however, now I keep switching on the washing machine with my backside as I open the fridge door so my electricity meter is whizzing round again.

+ does what it says on the box. A basic fridge, good size, good value for money and 5 year guarantee

- egg holder compartment is difficult to open...not a biggy though

+ plenty of room in fridge and freezer,has good A rating, divided salad containers good and ice cube trays.

- Strange noise like a wasp every so often.
Not too sure about ice formation on back wall of the fridge

+ This is an execllent fridge/freezer which runs quietly and effectively. It is surprisingly capacious despite offering the smaller width measurement that I require for my size kitchen. I would recommend this product unreservedly

+ The fridge runs quietly and seems to be efficient. The space available was the reason for this model otherwise would have bought a bigger fridge freezer probably still hotpoint. Overall very pleased.

+ Large, plenty of space. Does what we want it to, ie keeps cool things cool and frozen things frozen.
Don't worry about a little bit of ice at the top of the fridge at the back - a Hotpoint engineer confirmed this was normal and there is a 'water escape' hole in it needs it.

- Levelling feet are at back of fridge, which is annoying when you've spent a bit of time putting it where you want it.

+ Does what it's meant to. A good size for us. Quality seems good. Reasonably priced.

- None really. Doesn't have any fancy extras (but then you probably know that) and the icecube trays in the drawers aren't worth using which is a very minor point.

+ Love the fridge layout and the freezer capacity is good. This was real value for money. I didn't want to spend a lot but got a really good deal and I am very happy.

- The top of the fridge has started to ice up a little. I have reduced the thermostat down to 2 and am waiting to see if it improves.

+ Excellent value for money. Fridge & freezer very well proportioned size wise & it was just the width we were looking for, most others were wider.

+ Plenty of space both in fridge and the freezer. A bonus is the 2 ice cube trays which slot in the front of the freezer drawers, so they don't use any unecessary space.

+ I like the glass shelves (spills dont go far) I also like the double salad trays. The freezer draws are deep and hold enough for my family of 4.

- terrible door change mechanism. far from simple and pre drilled holes were not there: neither were there any grommits as indicated on the instrcutions.

+ for myself, the size of this fridge freezer is just what i needed, the ice compartments are great as there in the drawer fronts and dont take up any room that would take up room that would be used for food, all over i think so far this fridge freezer is very good

- the fast freeze button is mmmm hard to figure out which way is on and which way is of, more info in the pamphlet given would be great, also have had condensation in the fridge,,, which i havnt been able to sort out yet

+ Excellent cooling temperature - even with the thermostat set to 1 (which must make for good energy use, although it is winter at the moment).

- Changing the door opening to the other side was very tricky due to bad manufacturing.
Ice cube trays don't work!!

+ Well designed for an appliance of limited width. Would be better with an additional shelf.

- The ice trays. I am not using these as the cubes are too small and it is very difficult to retrieve the ice.

+ it has a hollow space under salad drawers which my old one did not so the salad items got frozen.
The door compartments are good.
The ice making containers are very cleverly in the drawer fronts,so you don't have to search for your ice cube tray.

- The fridge door fell off after a few months although this has now been fixed

+ Glass shelves in the fridge are easy to remove and clean. Same with salad crispers.

- The hinged lid on the butter/egg shelf in the fridge door is difficult to lift and slips from fingertip grip.
A lot of the freezer capacity is lost because of the size/shape/layout of the drawers.
There is an annoying sharp cracking noise when the appliance expands/contracts during its operating cycle.
The fridge door needs to be pushed to ensure proper closure as the magnetic door seals tend to resist a light closing force.

+ The interior design is quite good, easy to clean glass shelves and plenty of door space in the fridge area. Having all freezer drawers is excellent.

- Being disabled both the fridge and freezer doors produce such a tight seal that it is almost impossible to open the doors at times without really hurting your back. Even my nephew who is 33 years younger than me has difficulty opening the doors. Making the fridge/freezer impossible for me to use without help.

+ Great sized freezer compartment for the price. Very quiet. Good door storage in fridge for putting large pop bottles or large milk cartons.

- No bad points with the product itself- my only gripe was the large sticker stuck on the outside of the freezer door with the phone number to call to register the product- it took loads of soapy water to remove and has left a gluey mark which still won't shift which spoils the look a bit.
