Hoover OPH714D reviews: Front Loading loading, 7kg capacity washing machine

+ the machine has lots of good features it is easy to use and has low noise when spinning.I was a little worried that it only had a cold feed but this has turned out not to be a problem at all. This is a great machine with a very good brand name at a highly affordable price...what more could you want?

- Very deep (front to back). Thought these dimensions were standard these days so didn't think to measure the space under the kitchen worktop. Now the cupboard doors don't quite shut!

+ Quick cycles, fairly quiet compared to our previous machine. It has a larger drum which is great for getting through large amounts of washing quickly and also bedding and towels etc. It looks good in our kitchen. It has a 5 year parts guarantee which is a bonus. Cycle countdown timer is also handy.

+ I am really happy with the wahing machine. It washes perfectly every time even on a low temperature. washes large loads. Easy to use and has a count down timer so you know how long the wash is going to take. Very quiet even during spin cycle. The spin is brilliant washing is almost dry when it has finished.

- The power cable is quite short, certainly shorter than the outgoing machine, I've had to get an extension cable to get it to the socket. I suspect for most people it would not be a problem, but it was for us.

- having to turn it on it's side to fit a dust panel on the bottom before using.

+ Takes a huge amount of washing, 1400 spin is great, a variety of different programmes for different fabrics- would definitely buy it again, and is excellent value for money.

- Not all cycles have a 1400 spin, but as you can do it at the end anyway it doesn't make a lot of difference!

+ this washer even has a 29 minute wash that washes at 40degrees which i think is good as my last quick wash was only a 30.

+ Energy saving (cold fill only), variable temperature button, delay start button, nice big drum for large loads, excellent spin speed - clothes are practically dry!

- Would have liked to vary the temperature by 5 degrees not just pre-set options, eg reduce from 60 degrees down in 5 degree options, not just down to 40 and then 30 and then cold only.

+ It's a very good washing machine. Especially because it has a washing speed of 1400rpm, so clothes can dry quicker as well as a variety of programmes for various types of clothing.

- Nothing bad about it at all really. I only had to read the instruction manual again in the first few washes to get used to it.

+ Big Drum! Very easy to use the cycles and adjust them to ones specific requirements. Also, lock light on panel, lets you know that you can't open the door, handy with a toddler about! Clothes come out lovely and clean! Haven't had a chance to use the stain blaster button yet. Very pleased with purchase.

- A bit noisy in spin cycle! As cycles are pre-set have to make sure temp is correct for mixed wash load!

+ This Hoover model provides a nice large size drum, good 1400 spin speed and wide range of cycles to suit my every washing need. Having used the new machine quite a lot since it arrived I've now realised how poor my old machine was performing. I now wash most items at 30 degrees and on shorter wash time than before. The new machine also looks really nice compared to some of the other similar models I originally looked at.

- My only small issue is the detergent tray, it doesn't pull out far enough to allow me to put my prewash sccop of Vanish in easily.

+ Its a great washing machine, great size drum, great choices of programmes, and great to have a programme that does handwash item, save the hassle of doing it in the sink..

+ The large variety and flexibility of the settings. This facilitates the required care for different fabrics without having to run a wash cycle with only a few items in the drum. The large capacity of the drum which has improved the cleaning results because there is plenty of room for the clothes to move around even with a large load.

+ This is a fantastic washing machine. The drum is huge and the spin is so quiet, even at 1400 rpm, that I never know the wash has finished. The programs are easy to use and the digital screen screen is excellent. I had a Hoover new wave for 12 years and was lost when it finally died. So far my Optima is a very worthy successor.

+ I like the drum size and the energy efficiency. It is quiet running and has good features and is easy to use. But the main selling points for me were its price at the time and size of drum. My old washing machine was not working and I needed an urgent replacement. I am disabled and couldn't afford to get behind with my washing.

+ Easy to use, performs well and reasonably quiet. The 1400 rpm spin really helps as it gets a whole lot more excess water from the washing.

- The number display is hard to read when close up as number segments appear lit when they are not. You have to stand back to view the numbers clearly. However, this is not a show stopper.

- didn't go together very well - there were cosmetic features that were to be attached and they wouldn't fit together as holes didn't match etc.

+ This machine is very easy to use and has a very large opening for putting the clothes in and out of the drum. the knobs to control the programme are also very simple to understand and I found it quite an easy machine to use.
