Score 1.0/10+ none
- avery single thing that can be awkward or hard to use, is bad. you can only finalise disks when connected to the mains, the controls are very fiddly, the format that it records on ram-disks cannot be recognised by a computer or dvd player, the only way to edit ram-disks is with the supplied rubbish software from hitachi. The other recording formats are useless because there is no way to edit them, because if you format a dvd+rw in one way, you can't then reformat them in the editable format EVER! It doesn't join the recordings up, so if you start and stop recording 60 times during the life of the disc inserted, then you get 60 thumbnails! there should be a pause button so you can continue to record where you left off.. When you do use the supplied software to edit your recodings on the computer, it resets itself when you get more than about 50 bits to join and bang goes 2 hours work, and the quality ends up as bad as a not very good avi, nowhere near dvd quality. It is an all round useless bit of kit, and even if they paid me, I would never ever buy another hitachi anything!!!

Score 7.0/10+ Relatively easy to use even for a technophobe like me. Nice and compact
- Battery--- very short span so had to buy bigger capacity one.Would have been nice to have a dvd included so that I could have used camcorder straight away.

Score 9.0/10+ I love this small and lightweight camera - does everything you want it to and came at a great price. Has all the cables you could possibly need. Handy to use, nice size. Standard battery lasts well and doesn't take long to re-charge after use either - a higher capacity battery can be bought if you need one. This is a great camera, get one!
- Only reason I didn't rate the image quality higher than 8 because you need to set record at the highest resolution level (which cuts 10 mins off a 30 min disc) to get the best from it - but don't let this put you off, this is still a quality DVD cam.

Score 2.0/10+ This camera is lightweight and takes dvd discs which is why I bought it plus at the time it was on offer.
- The picture quality is very grainy, it has no inbuilt light so doesn't work in dim lighting. I am very disappointed as I have only used it twice in 6 weeks because I am not happy with the results.

Light & compact, with images straight onto disc.
