+ The product is very visual which is good for kids as they need colour and variety to stimulate the brain to make them want to play with a product. It introduces them to the concept of maps in a fun way. The island is a good size and pretty sturdy as a whole. The texture is also good as spillages are easily wiped.

- The platform which is clear plastic to be used as a battle field for the air gomiti's isn't sturdy enough to take their weight.

- Very flimsy, cardboard base ripped when it was taken out of the box. This wasn't handled roughly either.
The plastic 'volcanoes' and transparent stand are incredibly poor quality. Certainly overpriced for the quality. The actual figures in the box and in the gormiti series are of a better quality, which led me to believe that this toy would have been more robust and suitable for imaginative play, but my son is very careful and is almost reluctant to play with it "in case it falls apart". Very disappointing.

+ My six year old loves it ! The board folds out to a fairly big size and is very detailed.

- Quality of the Volcano and the 'sky' was poor - very flimsy plastic that probably won't sustain much play. Compatability with other play sets is not great as they don't quite 'fit' where they are supposed to. The cardboard cut out forest also falls apart very easily.

+ colourful characters, massive playing board, easy to use, can fit other gormiti playsets on the playing board

- playing board itself is weak at the joints and easily ripped when undone by exited children, sky platform isnt ridgied enough, the forest is made of card, it could be made from a better material

+ large item seems alot to a child. When you collect all the other accessories creates a really lovely big scene, that boys will love.

- The instructions are very bad, the accessories could be cheaper and the individual men are very expensive.

+ My 5 year old son enjoys playing imaginatively with his Gormiti Island. He likes the trap doors and the various places that you can hide the characters.

- Although the set looks attractive enough the ocean base is fragile and spilt apart as soon as my son tried to pack away the set after its very first use. The base also marks very easily as he presses the characters down upon it.

+ The gormiti range are great fun to play with my young child and being a numbers based game they have proven great to help hm start recognising numbers..the island is a good set to play on and creates a scene that keeps him entertained

- The whol thing is made from cheap featurless thin plastic.. The air platform was a complete waste of space . The board itsel once set up isn't easy to put away due to how the island parts fit under the main board.

+ Good for role play. My son can either play by himself or with friends. Sturdy cardboard gives a good solid base. the wobbly plastic part could be better as he tends to leave that off.

- Quality of volcanos and see above.

+ Can put other playsets in place of the very flimsy provided items on main island

- I've seen more robust packaging than this. I doubt it will last 5 minutes of play. The accessories are fine, but the main island is very thin blown polystyrene, very similar to bubble packet packaging to hold toys in. Can't say what entertainment value will be, but one argument or a falling child, and the whole things gone. very disappointed with this compared to the smaller gormitti playsets such as volcano mountain, etc.

+ My little boys just loves his Island he has nearly completed all the gormiti figures now we hear there is some more out he cant wait to start collecting them too. He has had the Island out today playing away with it to his little heart content.

- It is very big but luckily we did not throw the box away so after he has played with it we pack it all away in the orginal box and it goes on top of his wardrobe.

+ Grandson had it on the top of his Christmas present list - he has a collection of the Gormiti figures

- Huge box - inside the board was OK but the 'contour' shapes were made of very cheap and flimsy plastic, I doubt it will stand up to match. The plastic was not even coloured but a nasty grey colour.

- Really cheaply made its a pile of very thin moulded plastic wich will last about two minutes of playing.
the plastic island sits inside some cardboard and the other bits of plastic sit on top of each other it will break very easy. You even need to cut the stickers out yourself after working out wich one gooes where as they just come in three A4 sheets of paper in four different languages. very bad buy!
