- Good points:
-
Very simple to use, clear onscreen menus and instructions. Small in size, neat and compact. Nearly all channels very good reception.
Happy with purchase, even with minor problem (see bad points). Would definitely recommend. - Bad points:
-
Pixelates very badly on Channel 5 (not a reception/aerial problem as other Digital receiver and analogue TV no pixellation, just with PVR).
Doesn't seem to want to "talk" to my other Digital receiver : I wanted to record from my Telewest Digibox (more channels available through subscription) - even after talking to both Goodmans and Virgin helplines, still can't get PVR to recognise my other DTR.

- Good points:
- I'd heard that some PVRs can be quite noisy - this one is silent. The picture quality is excellent and the initial set up was very easy - the Goodmans automatically searching for all available channels. It has an excellent program guide and it is very easy to set it up to record a single event or a series. It also continues to play what you are watching, in a small picture, whilst you are in the program guide - something I believe a lot of other machines don't do.
- Bad points:
- Accessing your recordings means going through a couple of menus via the remote - instead of having a dedicated button which takes you to them. Some of the instructions are a little vague. These are minor quibbles however as I bought the machine for my mum, who is in her 70s, and she loves it.
