- Good points:
- Traffic cameras and traffic diversions when there are delays on your route
- Bad points:
- The Tom Tom has the option to file your favourites in categories, such as work, friends and family. This in not essential - just helpful when you have a large number of destinations

The 3790t is a simply stunning device, almost certainly the best portable Satnav on the market today and comparable to the factory fit device in my Audi (bought the Garmin for my wife) - though both share the same map data source; Navteq.
The voice command capability actually works - simply saying 'voice command' alerts the device (no need to touch it) and both destinations can be said as whole words or spelt letter by letter. Equally some of the system controls such as volume can be controlled the same way.
The traffic management TMC capability is very good and the aerial for this is integral to the power cable. The screen is of absolutely gorgeous quality and the level of map and terrain detail is amazing (even at night). The menus are simple to use and very logical - there is just enough and no more - really the way it should be.
It is more than just an in car navigation device though - it also has a pedestrian mode. The screen re-orientates itself from Landscape to Portrait automatically. Garmin sell City Explorer Guides for the device to extend its usefulness with local information as well as simply finding your destination.
When the device is new it is absolutely essential to do both software and map updates before using it for real - it takes 3 or 4 hours to do with a fast internet connection. Once completed you have a rock-solid stable, crash free device. - Bad points:
- There are almost no bad points - the gorgeous screen is gloss black and shows finger prints easily - though they wipe off equally easy.

Score 8.0/10have not tried the bluetooth phone feature so far.
I have an old Garmin but it did not have Euromapping and needed update of UK maps
Touch screen fine, but did not always respond to first touch.
Could not stand the "Emily" voice. Switched to English English which hesitated sometimes.
