+ This is our first sat nav and we were very impressed with the performance. We drove from the North of Scotland to Sherwood forest, Siverstone race course the next day and Crewe the day after that and it took us right to our destination. Excellant graphics and very easy to follow even on large complex roundabouts with many side lanes.

- Power cable is a little bit bulky but given the perfromance of the Sat nav this is a small issue.

+ Recalculates very quickly.
Very clear display and lane guide is very good.

- Some odd minor route directions even after mapping update but commonsense said not to follow them.
e.g. come off a dual carriageway across a roundabout and up the slip road to join the same dual carriageway.

+ Large easy to read screen changes to night colours automatically after dark. MP3 player is nice if you don't already have one in the car.

- maps are a year or two out of date for newer Irish motorway sections. No real instructions for operating it after set up ;I am still discovering tricks months later.

Satellite Navigation Buyers Guide

Manufacturer's Description

Get a new perspective on navigation with nüvi 765T. This state-of-the-art navigator brings detailed street maps for Europe and premium features like Lane Assist, 3D City View and landmarks, smart traffic avoidance, GPS HotFix™ technology and photo navigation. With stereo Bluetooth and enhanced phonebook and MP3 support, you can make and accept hands-free phone calls through the sat-nav screen and listen to navigation, calls and MP3s broadcast through your car stereo.

Know the right lane

Lane Assist guides you to the correct lane for your onward journey, banishing confusion on motorways and multi-lane junctions. Avoid the guesswork; as you drive, nüvi labels the lanes, with arrows indicating the correct choice for approaching turns and exits. It even shows the road signs on major motorways for a clear illustration of what lays ahead. With added Lane Guidance to preview up to nine lanes, it’s your own local expert, wherever you travel.

Enhanced navigation with 3D City View

Navigate your way to a new age in satellite navigation, with panoramic 3D City View. As you drive around major cities in Europe, a 3D view of key buildings and landmarks adds to the realism of the navigation experience.

nüvi 765T comes preloaded with detailed City Navigator® street maps for Europe, with digital elevation mapping contour detail for a better understanding of the surrounding terrain. Rolling screen transition, accelerated map redraw and routing capabilities make screen zooming even smoother and ensure the navigation always matches your pace.

Advanced route planning lets you save 10 routes, specify via points and preview simulated turns on the wide screen. In addition, nüvi 765T automatically sorts multiple destinations to find your most efficient route – optimising your journey to save time and fuel.

Redefine your sightseeing with photo navigation. To plan trips to landmarks and attractions before you set off, choose and save location-tagged photographs from Google Panoramio on your nüvi in a wish-list of places to visit. Then, at your leisure, select a photo destination for turn-by-turn directions straight to the scene.

Don’t lose your car in a car park. nüvi 765T automatically marks the position on the map screen. When it’s time to return to the car, Park Position Recall guides you back there on foot.

Built-in travel tools include a JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, a currency and measurement converter, calculator and more.

Smart traffic avoidance

nüvi 765T comes with Garmin’s smart traffic avoidance to help you stay aware of jams, accidents and roadworks on your route, with dependable delay information. Garmin’s distinctive, streaming traffic service uses live traffic data from cameras located every two miles along every major route to help you avoid the tailbacks.

Traffic information is just a toggle away. Just flick between your main navigation screen and congestion information while Garmin’s expert navigation works with the traffic alerts to report on the tailbacks and suggest a better route around the delay.
Stereo hands-free calling

nüvi 765T integrates A2DP stereo Bluetooth® with a built-in microphone and speaker. Pair with your compatible mobile phone to talk hands-free through the sat-nav and give the road your full attention. Simply dial numbers using nüvi’s touchscreen keypad and answer calls in a tap of the screen, with mobile phone integration. Enjoy convenient one-touch dialling for contacts and points of interest and drive safely and legally. Even listen to high-quality stereo music and navigation on your headset.

Simplicity and safety

Touch the 4.3-inch colour screen, key in your destination and nüvi takes you there with turn-by-turn spoken directions, announcing the road and place names as you approach for greater confidence on unfamiliar or busy streets. In addition, nüvi 765T includes logo-branded points of interest to make it easier to see your preferred destinations along the route. With HotFix™ satellite prediction technology, Garmin calculates your position faster to get you there quicker.

’Where Am I?’ gives you details about your position on command. Simply tap the car icon for your exact latitude and longitude coordinates, nearest address, contact details for your appropriate vehicle recovery service and directions to nearby hospitals, police and petrol stations.

nüvi 765T contains Garmin’s unique, advanced driver safety system with daily updates. Travel with the confidence you are driving safely, responsibly and legally and don’t be fooled by false alerts. The system uses a patented ‘corridor’ technique of camera validation so you only get alerts relevant to cameras on your route. nüvi also displays speed limits for greater awareness.

nüvi 765T comes with Garmin Lock™, our inventive anti-theft protection system that uses GPS technology to safeguard the sat-nav by locking to a secure location of your choice. Just return to the location to unlock.
