Fitness First Exercise Bike

+ Sturdy, correct exercise position and options

- large to store in confined area

+ good range of settings, cost effective and value for money.

- The seat adjustment is not enough for a short person. I still struggle to get on and off the seat.

+ Great variety of programmes, including fitness assessment

- Heavy and large, but then that's a result of quality. anything lighter/smaller, I imagine would be less efficient.

+ Easy to assemble and programes are easy to use. having the drinks bottle on board also helps as you dont have to worry about fluid intake on a long ride. it also looks much better set up than the picture on website

- like all bikes of this type, you have to leave them up in a room. not a big deal

+ Very robust bike. Has the quality of bikes that are triple the price (its the size or weight of the flywheel that matters apparantly) Used by 3 people so we needed a good one but didn't want to spend a lot. Very happy with it. Its quiet and not too big.

- Seat is quite a way from handlebars so you have to move them down and nearer. Probably no prob if you are a bit taller than me (5')

+ I researched what type of bikes I could get in this price range and this one was far the best. I work in gyms but wanted something half decent at home without spending a fortune and the feel of the cycle is fairly good for the money, other models I tried felt cheap and the plastic creeked etc but the frame is a sturdy build and it feels like a quility product. I even managed to put it together myself it was realy easy. Very quite to use which is good.

- Only bad point would be the screen is pretty basic, but if all your looking for is a simple turn on a go, its all you need. I just put it on manual and change the resistance and watch my time.

+ I was really impressed with the build quality and the performance - its virtually silent when running so you could easily have it in the room watching tv. ..and because its a nice colour scheme i've bought it to go with my bedroom - so hopefully i'll use it each day. I've also bought the matching cross trainer which is as good as any i've used at the gym.

- There were quite a lot of 'bits' to put together - i asked a friend to help!! (i could have done it, but i was stuck for time)

+ Sturdy, easy to adjust and really comfortable workout.

- Really difficult to see performance and setting data on computer screen.

+ Construction, programmes & usability

- The booklet is a little complicated to understand with regards bmi and other fitness tests

+ It gives the user the feeling that it is a good solid piece of equipment

- It is very heavy so manoevering it around pre- and post- use is hard work!
