+ Quick & easy to use & scan's several photo's at once saving them as seperate photo's. Novice & Expert modes are also included, which is a bonus! Negative plates included too, again a bonus! Although I haven't had chance to try these yet!

- Bit bulker then other scanners other then that I would buy one again & recommend it too!

+ A good looking machine thats speedy and easy to use

- Instructions on how to use the Digital Ice Feature are not very clear, and also during setup it is not made clear
which feature you have to install to obtain it.

+ A good product, scans fine detail well and gives a very good copy of the original image. Easy to use. Excellent price. A good all round home user scanner.

- A tad clunky in its design, otherwise no bad points.

+ Scans 35mm slides well (including Kodachrome despite a disclaimer in the documentation). The Adobe photo editor supplied (Photoshop Elements) enhances slides better than Paint Shop Pro, which is saying a lot.
Works seamlessly when invoked from external programs, eg Microsoft Imaging.

- Use for photocopying is slower than the Perfection 1200 that it replaces. Can't get the special buttons for pdf and email to work to spec. (but who needs them?)

+ Outstanding quality of scanned items. Easy to use. Digital Ice definately worth having,saving time at the software stage.

- Could be faster, but that's the trade off for the superb quality.
Also a more recent Adobe Elements than 3 would be nice.

+ I like the quality of the reproduction. It is good to have wide sellection of choice of the type of item being scanned; you can try different ones and see the differences. It is quick and easy to use. In my eighties this is important.

+ It works and scanners I have had before didn't work properly perhaps because I use a Mac. It is very fast and provides a trouble, free, high quality scan.

- The software is not really integrated into the latest Mac OS. You can not scan large format glass negatives, the whole reason I bought the thing in the first place.
