+ I was looking for a cleaner which was not too heavy, but would be easy to push around and this fitted the bill.

+ The suction is really good and it is really easy to move because of the ball. Lighter than some Dyson models.

- The wand just about reaches the top stair. You can't really hoover the whole of the top stair as it is not quite long enough to reach. Also the wand is rather awkward to use sometimes as the steel pole is too long really so you can manovere it very well.

+ It's very easy and light to move around and fairly light to lift. The tools are useful and easily accessed as is the dust cylinder - which is also easy to empty. Decent suction power too.

- If anything, it is a little bit of a pain pulling out the hidden extendable arm every time you want to use the tools and then replacing it once you've finished. After more than a months' use I'm still not used to having the power button halfway up the cleaner - I'm still always trying to find the button at the base with my feet (it's just what I've been used to over the years).

+ When using my old dyson i found that hovering under radiators i was not able to get under and had to use a removable head. Then next to scurting boards it did not get right up to them. whith this hover there is no problem, and for me this is a big advantage because of the amount of hovering.

- when i first got the hover working out how to attach the attachments, but once figured out there are no bad points!

+ Excellent handling and suction power.

- You can't easily do normal house stairs with it, as the tube won't reach far enough. My husband has to hold the vacuum for me as I go down the stairs! If I tried it on my own, the vacuum would fal over, as the tube stretching pulls it over.

- The wand for use on stairs is not very easy.

- Although this looks stronger than previous cleaners we have owned, the plastic mouldings still look a little flimsy - probably to achieve the weight reductions and cheaper component prices - hope they last the test of time.
Difficult to switch over to the accessories option when you need to get to those awkward bits.

+ Suction works right up to the edge so no need to use the attachment to do the edges of your carpet. Button switches easily to put the brushes on for the carpet or off for laminate flooring.

+ Great machine - does everything I want. Changes easily from carpet to hard floors. Easy to empty - haven't had it long enough to have to clean filters yet - but it looks easy enough to do. Am very pleased with the performance, especially compared with my old bagless Hoover. I love the ball - it takes a little getting used to, but its really much better and it gets into all those awkward spots my old one couldn't; and it cleans right up to the wall and into the corners.

- None really, except the dust compartment needs to be emptied quite often - although I see this as a positive, i.e. stops me being so lazy and leaving dirt in the thing for weeks and weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!

+ lighter weight, reaches awkward corners, the brush being' slightly wider than cylinder' means it goes under items easier. An all over great machine, this is my second Dyson the previous one earned it's retirement!!!

- frighteningly loud noise switching on and off comes from the mechanism of the brush head....get used to it!!!
having a smaller cylinder obviously it needs to be emptied more....get used to it!!!

- dont do tight bends very easily

+ A lot lighter than previous Dysons and very easy to manoevre. New design means it gets under small gaps and into corners, also my old Dyson used to scratch my hard floors - this one doesn't

- Not sure it's quite as powerful as previous Dysons and the cylinder is definitely smaller meaning it has to be emptied more often.

+ Very strong pick-up.

+ It's compact, so eas to store. The suction is good. It picks up hairs and works good on both carpet and hard floor.

- It is not very easy to use. I think it is a bit heavy and sometimes hard to use.

+ Brush head part lower than prevoius dyson so able to go under (partly) sofa and chairs.
Head cleans right up to the edge of the skirting board.
The "ball" is effective for turning.

- Fexible hose could be a little longer as when I get to the top of the stairs it is fully stretched and hard to use.
The dust cylinder could have been bigger.
Attachment is difficult to remove.

Its very easy to handle and instructions are clear and i would thoroughly recommend this to anyone.

- Its a bit heavy than I thought but manageable. I have tied manyother cleaners but dyson is the best I've had so far!

- Far far to heavy. It's a joke to empty, just horrible. They advertise and advertise how it steers and moves and when you get it, its a big heavy clumsy product that's hard to push and heavy to carry.
It seems to clog up a lot too

+ It's a lot smaller then the DC04 it replaced! Though it's compact the suction is still brilliant. The roller ball takes a bit of getting used to you really have to twist your wrist to make the most of this. Its easy to empty.

- You can turn on and off the brush hence the 'all floors' bit, it's clear so you can check if it's on or off however this section gets quiet dirty and doesn't look too appealing. maybe a small windo section would be better? I'm guessing due to it being new the hose isn't too flexiable and becasue the hoover is light you can't seem to stretch far the whole unit will come with you!

+ Very good suction, as expected. Filters look easy to clean, although I have not needed to do this yet. Brush bar is powered by separate motor and can be switched off. Easy to manoeuvre with ball, but someone with arthritis might find it a bit heavy. You can see how much dirt is in it.

- Does not hold much dirt, but is easy to empty. I just dump it in the kitchen bin and it gets put out with the rubbish. Seems too expensive, in common with all Dysons. Time will tell if it is worth it.

+ My Dyson Ball has converted me from a non-cleaner to someone who actually puts time aside to hoover! Sad, I know, but it is light, fun to use, easy to use, and SO powerful. I can't believe how much it picks up. Absolutely brilliant - and it is the envy of all who visit!

+ Very powerful suction, leaves carpets thoroughly clean, can reach under lots of furniture. Lighter to carry than my previous Dyson 01 Absolute, an advantage for upstairs.

- Slightly awkward to manoeuvre, the weight is concentrated in the motor (housed in the ball) and it takes a while to get used to it. Much smaller dust cylinder than the 01 model, which means you need to empty it very frequently.

+ Works well on floors and carpet.

- Quite difficult to remove hose and put back. Find using the hose a little fiddly, quite rigid because of the handle.

- I tend to trip over the electric cable because of how it comes out on the handle. It automatically falls downwards, hence I am always having to bend down to pick the cable up.

- difficult to use when hoovering stairs - the removable nozzle is very difficult to use and aukward.

+ I cannot get over how much dirt/dust/bits it picks up in just one use i.e. vaccuming all of the carpets indoors. It is easy to use and push around and clips/clicks together and apart very smoothly. Despite it weighing 7.4kgs it is not too heavy to carry up or down stairs.

- The only bit that I find difficult to do is vaccum the top three/four stairs with the Dyson at the bottom of the stairs because I cannot get the end of the hose at the right angle to pick up bits. So I tend to vaccum the top three/four stairs from the top i.e. with the Dyson on the landing and the remainder of the stairs with the Dyson at the bottom.

- The action of taking the machine from standing upright to hoovering position is very difficult on a non carpeted floor. The kick release is big enough but the wheel mechanism is ungainly.

- do not like silly little wheels at the back of the hoover,also the stand contraption,to fiddley.

+ Very powerful but light and easy to manoeuver around because of the ball design. Very long extension hose lets you get almost to the top of a normal flight of stairs without lugging the cleaner behind you. Easy to empty and clean the filters too. Sturdy construction and excellent quality materials. All-in-all a brilliant product.

+ prefer the dyson dc25 to my previous dyson being able to hoover under radiators without having the use the tools, my old dc04 i thought was too heavy and you needed the tools to hoover under radiators. the new dc25 is easy to handle and light weight.
