Dyson DC21 Motorhead Reviews: , Cylinder, Bagless Vacuum cleaner

+ Excellent. Simply the best vacuum cleaner on the market. You get what you pay for! Would strongly recommend to anyone who want very clean carpets.

- You need to change heads for wooden floor but that head is excellent too.

+ very good performance and looks cool

+ Picks up the dirt really well on carpet & on hard surface.

- Quite heavy & slightly less easy to manoevre than the previous Dyson we had.

+ I find this vacuum cleaner is very powerful and gets my carpets really clean. I find the turbo head is really good as it gets right down into the pile of the carpet.

- I don't think it has any bad points, if it has I haven't found them yet!

+ It is very powerful and well engineered, the power head is very good. It is more compact than my last dyson that I had for many years, so it fits in the cupboard better. There have been changes made over the years to the design and all good. Including small changes to the tools, the telescopic wand and making it easier to empty the waste. The 5 year gurantee is really good, no other manufacture is offering this.

- The only negatives I have found is. When the flexible hose is coiled for storage it does not stay clipped, it comes off very easily and unless the coil is just in the right place will not hook back on again and if you do get it ack on it comes off again as sooon as the coils move a bit. The flexible hose is also rather soft. Although there is an anti twist section at the end of the hose, it still twists and folds sometimes, so has to be untwisted manually. You have to pull the telescopic wand out quite hard for it to lock into place, but that's ok once you get used to how hard you need to pull it. These are only small points. Over all I think this is a really good, powerful well engineered machine.

+ excellent motorhead for lifting pile on carpets.good at swivelling around furniture,especially on hard floors.

- suction not great on hard floors and often have to try different tools to pick up stray bits,which can be time consuming and awkward.very bulky to store and needs large cupboard to store in.

+ Very good suction Longer lead than I had expected.

- Ugly. Heavy. No good instructions at all included with new machine. (Only in ?Japanese or double Dutch). Bushes mark velvet carpet but it can be vaccumed finally without brushes for smooth finish. Fairly noisy but they all are.

+ Picks up animal hair unlike other hoovers I have tried.

- Head is a bit heavy

+ Simply fantastic! I you have carpets in your home this is the business - cant find better vacuum cleaner that alowes you to go around your furniture almost effortlessly. Motorhead is great - no need to use any stamina - really saves your back.
If this thing works for more than 5 years than it is worth every penny. Great customer support so far - got a free car cleaning turbine head from Dyson - out of the blue - which is a nice and unexpected gesture in this capitalistic world. :-)

+ very good at picking up pet hairs and finer household dust that other dyson's do miss. i love this machine. it is compact and stores away very neatly. it's very movable with a nice long cable. i like the foot on/off switch and the foot switch for sucking back the cable - stops you from bending over. great for use in the car.

- doesn't quite reach the top of my stairs so i have to put the machine on the first few steps of the stairs to reach the top. the hose clicks into the machine to help it stow away but it is hard to undo the part to free the hose, this could have been better designed. when using in the car it would have been handy to have a mini motorhead attachment.
