Dyson DC19I Reviews: , Cylinder, Bagless Vacuum cleaner

+ Its a Dyson! I like the flat head, very important for us as have wooden, tile and carpeted areas. My mum has to stowaway animal which has a turbo head, I much prefer this head as goes under anything etc. feels less harsh. we have a dog, its fine for the hairs. Tools are great, the small head is great for the sofa, car and curtains, and I use the small round brush on the dado-rails and doors etc, overall a good set of tools, very functional. We were looking at other cheeper bagless models ad then got given one, it was completely useless! locked on the first go. But the Dyson just keeps sucking, even after building work mess. As the saying goes.... 'if you want something like a Dyson, get a Dyson'. We are quite happy with ours.

+ It has a good length hose, nice and lightweight to use and good for reaching (underneath) furniture. It is compact and sits(just) on the stairs when required. Suction is very good.

- Not keen on the hose holder perched on the back. It sticks out and looks flimsy and, makes it a little bulky for storing.

+ Excellent so much better than my bagless Hoover that I had. Fabulous for a family household

Bad design for stairs (original Dyson sat nicely on the stairs to facilitate cleaning whereas this one has a flat bottom and is awkward to use on stairs)

+ As you would expect the dyson baby picks up anything, although it was an expensive purchase it was well worth the money. It is really light and easy to move around the floor, overall a great buy!

- Not that easy to use, the head and pipe are stiff to remove. I do not like the wheel on the end of the pipe as you cannot do the edges without an attachment. Do not like it as much as my last Dyson, but stuck with it now!

+ As I live in a town house and have several flights of stairs, it is easy to carry from one floor to another. It doesn't take too long to vacuumn through the house any more.

- It took me several goes before I could unlock the dust chamber to empty it. Re-positioning it took several goes again. One I had mastered them, everything was fine.

+ Comes with reasonable set of accessories and has a 5 year guarantee. Cleans well. Main attachment is ultra thin and gets under furniture well.

- The mounting point for the main head and tube looks a bit flimsy, but this will be covered by the guarantee, The amount of dust etc that can be held before it requires emptying (according to the mark on the container) is on the small side. It will hold more but presumably at reduced suction.

- High whining noise in the engine and quite a short flex - canT reach the top -bottom of the stairs

+ dyson has always been an excellent maker. Good suction, easy to handle and stores well.

+ it really is a dirt digger on our axminster carpet and keeps the carpet ,rugs looking new, the bedis always fresh to what is vaccumed out of the matress, in fact the cleaner as all good points, this is my second dyson in over 20years and i still have the old one which still does its job.

+ Fantastic suction. Really gives carpets a deep deep clean. It is a superior hoover. Also easy to empty. I love it.

- Its bulky. Heavy to lift if carrying it up and down stairs. Also needs a bit of muscle to use it on carpets.

+ with a slim flat brush you can slide it under furniture without moveing it and all the tools are attatched fixed on the machine

+ Item is very good at cleaning due to a strong suction. This reliable machine also packs neatly away, with the accessories. Long period before needing to empty the rubbish. I already had a Dyson since 2001, which proves very reliable, and this new Dyson vacuum cleaner is even better.

- Upon emptying the detachable container it can at times be tricky to force it back in. Although it normally is a formality to detach and reattach the unit.

- Stoage a bit awkward with the upright hose

+ That I can get into corners more easily than an upright. Strong sucktion, Nice handle to hold where other kinds of cylinder does not. No bags to emty. Can clean it'

- It is a bit heavy for me to cary up stairs. I am a senior citizen though with Arthritis. There you are we can't have it all ways.
