Improvements include 1 touch emptying for the removal of dust,dirt etc.
No dirty hands!

- Pipe a bit fiddly to reattach to main part of dyson after using nozzle for stairs and such like.

+ I was disappointed a few years ago with one of the first Dysons so when that one packed up I bought other, cheaper makes. When I saw that Dyson now did a five year guarantee, I thought I would give them another go....I love it! It's not too heavy, the suck is strong and emptying it is almost a pleasure - it is so easy!

- The wand is a bit fiddly and the attatchment don't stay in place - but just keep them sticking out of your pocket/belt on your way round!

+ For me it is the perfect cleaner as i have three dogs and it has a great suction for getting up the dog hair. It is also great for cleaning the stairs as it has a long stretchable hose. It is very easy to empty and it is amazing how much dirt and dust you actually pick up, it would be great for people who suffer with alergies.

- This does not really reply to me but it is quite a heavy cleaner to use so i would not recommend it to the elderly or to anyone who does have a dissability.

+ HAD AN ANIMAL DYSON BEFORE PAID A FORTUNE WAS 2YRS OLD BUT IT HAS NEVER PICKED UP LIKE THIS MACHINE DOES IT IS BRILLIANT, MY NEIGHBOUR HAS EVEN BORROWED IT AS SHE HAS THE MODEL I HAVE JUST REPLACED, SHE THOUGHT THE SAME AND HAS PURCHASED THIS MODEL AS WELL. WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND.

- It is very heavy and I do have to get my husband to take it up and down stairs or I will take off pipe,waste bucket and carry it my self,but it is awkward.Also is a lot taller so does not fit in cuboard.I think these are miner things and I would have stil have brought my dyson.

- It's a bit heavy, especially for doing the stairs but the pros far outweigh the cons!

+ Powerful suction. Much improved design of bagless dust container. Easy to remove and empty thanks to pull-trigger which unhinges base allowing dust to be dropped into waste bin - no need to shake or turn upside down to remove contents.

+ This is my second dyson, after trying other less expensive makes i decided to return to the dyson name because of the performance being unlike no other. It is easy to use, lift and empty and brilliant for households with pets. I like the design and colour of this one also!

- The double ended hose takes a little getting used to and has changed from the old design.

+ As its a dyson, the usual good points, easy to clean, easy to access on board tools, good suction. I also like the red and silver colouring. I have 2 dogs and although this is not a pet model, it does the job in picking up hairs.

- This is my 3rd dyson, I feel that with this one, the hose is very stiff and difficult to use as there is little flexibility, I am hoping that with use, the hose will relax and become easier to use. Once again this model is a little heavy, this is only a problem when carrying it up and down stairs.

- It has the MOST AWFUL high pitched whine, not the hum of the motor, this is a high pitched NOISE, ear piercing! It is also a little heavier than expected, but the WHINE is almost headache inducing.

- one small gliche I feel is the proximity of the start button to the handle as I keep switching on when I lift it although my husband thinks perhaps I may be lifting it back to front however, this is the way I used to lift my previous Dyson vacuum and it did not have this problem. Nothing major but worht consideration for future models perhaps?

- Very noisy. Hose not long enough, so it bangs into you when you are stretching it a little.

+ It cleans very well, right up to the edge of the suction head. The method for emptying waste is brilliant.

- The hose is very difficult to use and the height of the handle is such that the machine is difficult to carry even for tall people, especially on stairs.

+ The dyson picks up everything usually left on the floor no problem, dust, bits of food off children, hairs etc (lots of hair in my house), and I find no problems at all with its cleaning capabilities because it does the job quickly and efficiently.

- Having to use the tools to do edges, stairs and corners and the hoover is a little heavy but still well worth the effort.
