+ For a standard def player in this price range it looks amazing better on component than HDMI as for sound CDs sound great, better than the older 1920 model which I use to have.

+ Fantastic Picture Quality + Sound (I have it connected via HDMI to a 42" Samsung Plasma). Was also impressed with the quality and speed it buffered DivX movies. Drive mechanism is very strong and smooth and gives the impression it will last unlike a Panasonic unit I was using before.

+ The DVD player is very easy to setup and handle different regiond DVD without any problem. Upscaling worked fine on a 1080p plasma.

- Big red ring of light around the power button when the unit was switched off.

+ Great quality picture and plays just about everything

- playing a 5.1 surround sound dvd lip sync is out however you can increase the dialog speed but then you don't get the true surround, i find this very irritating and annoying.

+ Attractive looking, good colour option.

- Would not play a number of DVD-R after finalising. Very disappointing, even my pc played them but the Denon just kept refusing. Not a easy GUI and it was slow to react to input.
