Score 8.0/10

+ Great small MP3 player, with good sound quality. Can fit loads of music on it and battery life seems pretty good so far. Great speaker too although the radio is poor. Very easy to put music on and charge through the USB. Also get a free skin and clip which is great for running/the gym.

- Browsing through the folders takes a while as its quite slow and the music stops as you are browsing which is quite annoying. It takes too long to browse through 2gb worth of music so I tend to make playlists on my computer and just play these.

+ Very small, very lightweight, ideal for the gym or just generally. Lots of features and looks good too. Very easy to load with tunes.

- Menus are a bit illogical and it can be rather tedious to navigate. Battery life is shocking, quoted at about 10hrs but seems to be more like less than 2 hrs, I'm considering returning mine in case this is a one off fault. Some WMAs that I loaded don't seem to play but not sure why as others do.

+ Small, unobtrusive, protective case. Easy to use. Main good point is it starts from where you left off so is ideal for audio books.

- Charges from USB so if you are without a computer (i.e. on holiday) you need to buy a separate charger unit.

Score 9.0/10

+ Nice and portable. The speaker is a nice feature to have!

- The fast forward function is a bit annoying as it goes about 10 secs at a time and you get the audio at every 10 sec interval - which is not nice for very long pod casts.

Score 9.0/10

+ The sound quality for something so small is amazing, I'm hearing new stuff on tracks I thought I knew well. Once you've worked out how to navigate your way around the menu I found that the zen is really easy to use. You can shuffle your tracks and switch between playlists easily. The battery life is great and seems to last for absolutely ages! This is great value for money and I'd definitely recommend it.

- Haven't found any yet.

Expert reviews for Creative Zen Stone Plus 2GB

TechRadar expert review

Think of the Zen Stone Plus as a shuffle-sized MP3 player, but with a display and built-in radio tacked on. It has twice the storage capacity of a shuffle (2GB or 4GB), and can browse tracks before playing. There's even a speaker and microphone on the Zen Stone Plus, as well as a stopwatch. On features, at least, is has the shuffle beat hands down. Not a radio for on the moveSound quality is on a par with the shuffle, but what about usability? Some of the extra features of the Zen Stone Plus didn't respond so well. The radio is great if you are sitting still, but quickly gets patchy…

TechRadar expert review

We're so accustomed to Apple dominating the MP3 player market that it's difficult for other players to make an impact. However, with its 2GB of space and neat array of colours, we think Creative may be on to something with the Zen Stone Plus.It sits in the palm of your hand and weighs next to nothing. With clear and easy controls you can find your favourite tunes or simply choose to shuffle your songs randomly. Simply plug into your laptop and you can drag and drop files to it. The sound quality is impressive, but even better is the remarkable battery life, as we managed to get well…
