Crayola - Illumination Station

- Very deceptive from tv adverts. Light very weak in base and from tourch. difficult to get sharp/clear image reflected on base when drawing the picture/outline. Our kid was excited, when they saw it, but turned to dissiappointment when they came to use it. Can be tricky getting disks into light holder and to adjust focus. Save your money! Unusual for Crayloa, their stuff it usually good!

+ Works well, lots of projector disks / images to choose from, comes with quite a few images for tracing over as well. Also comes with a few pens ( and room inside to store ) to get you going.

- Concerned over how long it will take to break the 'arm', side tray for pens is full height so it has a tendancy to be fouled in opening / closing when using it on carpet. Given the size of the unit, could easily have been made to accomodate 'C' or even 'D' size batteries, which would have reduced the weight of the projector head, and obviously increased battery duration.

+ Lots of images. easy to keep all bits together. has kept my 8yr old daughter occupied for hours.

- doesn't focus well. fiddly to get torch to light up base for tracing and not very bright when it does.

+ The illumination station comes with a variety of backgrounds to trace and numerous slides to project images, therefore there are many combinations to make different drawings meaning this is not a toy with which children will get easily bored.If your child likes drawing they will come back to this time after time

- The light can be tempremental to plug in for the light box feature but a firm push down usually does the trick.

+ It appeals to modern children,but still allows them to use their imaginations

- It doesn't really have any.It was pretty much what I expected it to be

+ absolutely excellent hours of fun. help for younger children who cant draw very well. does everything.

- storage for the transfers etc could be better
