Score 8.0/10+ Very slim and lightweight. Good-looking. Rechargeable battery.
- Some buttons a bit small. Instructions can get a bit complicated, especially for advanced features. Instruction manual could be better laid out and clearer with a comprehensive index. The use of several languages in each section instead of separate sections for each language is infuriating and confusing, making some sections almost incomprehensible.

Score 10.0/10+ What i like about this camera is the simplicity of it... its easy to use and a perfect size. The photo quality is excellent! definatley well worth it! i take my camera everywhere i go!
- i have no bad points about the actual camera... but i am having problems dowloading my films from my camera to my laptop. you do get a downloading cd, but its not that clear.

Score 8.0/10+ Picture quality is noticeably better than early Exilim-S models. Screen is nice and big. Comes with a cradle which is hugely more convenient than removing the battery to recharge. Battery life is excellent. Also, the cradle has a minijack AV output - useful for slideshows which include video clips direct to TV. Video quality is good. Camera build is slim & strong. SD card slot is the right card to have. Option to alter default flash intensity is useful. Full range of manual options - exposure, focus, shutter speed, ISO. Many features most people won't use (face recognition, many "bestshot" modes, audio snap etc.) but fun to have them. Good dictation machine sound quality.
- Slightly inconvenient that video is MOV nowadays instead of AVI. MOV is great for Mac owners, but compatible with fewer PC video editing programs. I had to upgrade. However, most digital cameras are moving to MOV. "Data" mode is unnecessary - essentially a picture you create from a document on your PC and transfer to the camera for remote viewing or printing. Early Exilims allowed macro focusing right up to the lens. These later ones won't focus closer than 15cm. I would have liked a panorama stitch function rather than some of the less interesting "bestshot" modes.

Score 8.0/10+ Very fast start up time and superb image quality for both stills and video. The Best Shot feature is surprisingly handy. Switching between best shot modes while shooting is fast and simple due to the positioning of the BS button and the photo illustrations representing each type of shot.
- Night shots can be a bit noisy depending on the light conditions.

Score 9.0/10+ Extremely easy to use with very fast start-up and flash recovery time. Great screen and the slim build is fantastic for portability. The quick-access video record button is an excellent feature and combined with a large memory card allows for decent quality videos to be recorded.

Score 8.0/10+ Nice feel when handling
- Fairly useless Kit of bits sold, at extra cost with camera. Only the memory card was of use & possibly the card reader. The very much over sized camera pouch was useless (the camera could easily fall out of it) , card case & tripod ?.

Expert reviews for Casio Exilim EX-S880
PC Advisor expert review
The ultra-thin 8.3Mp Casio Exilim EX-S880 compact camera is similar in shape and size to BenQ's DC-T700, however Casio forgoes the touchscreen for a more traditional approach.
