DIGIC 5 Processor and High Speed Shooting
The ultra-advanced DIGIC 5 processor included in the Ixus 127HS has phenomenal processing power and means that this little camera can offer the HS System (High Speed Shooting). This includes High Speed Burst for super fast sequences of stills, Super Slow Motion Movie and Handheld Night Scene which combines multiple exposures to avoid blur in night scenes).
Full HD movies
Also as a result of fast image data handling, the Ixus 127 HS can offer Full HD movie recording. (1080p at 24 frames per second). While shooting movies it’s possible to operate the optical zoom and Intelligent IS (image stabiliser). This camera also has a feature called Movie Digest. This feature automatically records the 4 seconds before a still photo is taken and combines these clips into a video montage for a bonus movie of your day’s shooting in 720p HD quality. As is customary on the latest HD models, a HDMI socket is included so you can hook up to your HDTV.
5x Zoom with Wide Angle
The 5x zoom lens in this camera comes equipped with 24mm equivalent wide angle. This allows you for example to get everyone in on that group or team photo. The zoom range can be doubled to 10x with very little loss of image quality when using the Zoom Plus feature.
16.1 megapixel CMOS
For ultimate image quality the Ixus 127 HS has a 16.1 megapixel CMOS sensor. CMOS sensors are very efficient and are therefore great in low light, and so helping the High Speed (HS) system work at its best.
The image stabiliser is a superior optical type and automatically chooses between 7 possible correction modes for the most precise reduction of camera shake.
Large Clear 3-inch Screen
Includes a 3.0” (7.5cm) PureColor II G LCD monitor. Its 460,000-dot resolution gives you the clearest possible view of your images and its very wide viewing angle allows you to frame shots from difficult angles with ease. The durable tempered glass outer layer also means that the screen is resistant to scuffs and scratches.
Face ID and Smart Auto
With Face ID you can register up to 12 faces of friends and family which the camera will give focus priority to and also tags them on playback.
Smart Auto chooses from an incredible 58 scene types (21 in movies) for an extra–precise tailoring of your camera setup. This mode also includes Face ID which can detect subject age as well, for example ensuring that a baby is not woken by a flash going off or noises from the camera.
