Canon EOS 5D with 24-105mm lens Reviews: Digital SLR Camera

+ Excellent image quality, the ISM lens is fantastic allowing hand held images at much slower shutter speeds than you would ever think possible. Fast smooth action for focusing and no delay time between pressing the shutter and taking the picture. A real joy to use and whilst expensive, worth every penny.

- Would struggle to find any bad points, the Raw converter software isn't the greatest in the world but is more than adequate.

+ Solid build, easy to use and fantastic quality pictures. The L series lenses are worth the money

- Would like the option to write images to an SD card for backup - nothing else.

+ The full-frame sensor, pin-point accuracy in focussing, heavy enough to hold securely and firmly (compared to my previous 350D), fast multiple shots, easy-to-use menu and great range of high-quality lenses.

- Can't use my EF-S lenses, but that's about it.

+ Very sturdy and great images. I managed to pick up most of the functions quickly. The included software is also quite good.

- No built in flash.

+ Superb image quality, and excellent build quality. View finder is clear and bright

- Only 3fps which is a bit slow. Focus points are too clustered in the centre - set-up more for a small size sensor. Better spaced out in my 40D (& 20D)

+ Picture quality, low light performance. Wonderful full frame sensor, so wide angle lenses are actually wide angle again!

- Weight....and price, obviously.

+ Image resolution, image quality, fits well in hand.

- Still a bit expensive.

+ Speed, Image clarity, Full Frame, good colour and tonenal range. Many features and expandable. Feels like a proper camera in weight and size.

- Would like firmware modified to support lcd preview.
Prefer viewfinder to have a greater dioptic correction range. Have to find a diaoptic to slot in to support the correction for my short sightedness.

- For me, none, I love it.

- Tends to over-expose by around a third of a stop.

- Need to budget for flash gun and camera is quite heavy but I would expect that for this quality build.
