- The rotary selection wheel is erratic and not easy to control to rapildy select new scene modes. Too much finger pressure and the wrong scene is selected - but maybe I have fingers like suasages at my age.

+ Screen nice and large, good quality photos, different modes are good. Easy to use.

- Took me a day or two to find out how to use all the features as the instruction manual is only avail. on a disc, not in paper form.
Not the smallest of cameras(though not large) - just not the best pick if you want something particularly light and compact.

+ The digital macro feature, great for close ups of insects, flowers etc. And the time lapse recoring feature. Superb photos.

- None about the camera. But it is annoying that the manual is only on CD. With so many features it's difficult to remember everything. And a computer is not always available! Yje beach or a party for instance.

+ I love the timelapse video option - great for making Benny Hill style videos!! Nice and easy to use and the buttons/wheel design works really well.

- Only that it isn't as fast as my Ixus 75 (which I lost). I guess that's down to the difference in megapixals. Still pretty darn quick though!!

There are 2 main types of camera: The SLR and the Compact. SLR stands for Single Lens Reflex. SLR cameras use a prism to reflect the exact image as seen through the lens and so offers a more accurate viewfinder. SLR cameras have detachable lenses offering greater flexibility if you wish to take a variety of different photographs. Compact cameras have a built in lens and an ‘above lens’ viewfinder which is less accurate but they are often cheaper, more sleekly designed and easier to carry anywhere with you to capture that moment perfectly without having to fiddle with complex settings or a bag full of lenses.
