The combination of a high quality Canon Video Lens and the power of DIGIC DV II processing allows the DC311 to offer superior zoom capability – up to 41x Advanced Zoom.

Direct-to-DVD recording
Benefit from the convenience of recording straight to DVD (-R/-RW/-R DL). Once your movie is finished, simply finalise it in-camera, ready for immediate playback on virtually any home DVD player.

Quick Start
Never miss the moment with Quick Start. One push of the dedicated button powers up the camcorder almost instantly from Standby mode – you’re ready to start shooting in around a second.

Intuitive control
Using the intuitive joystick on the frame of the LCD screen, gain easy access to every shooting and playback option.

Record for longer
Record up to 108 minutes of video on a single disc when shooting to DVD-R Dual Layer media. Longer recording times free you from the worry of running out of recording space on a long day out. An optional high capacity battery extends shooting time further.

True Widescreen recording
Canon camcorders offer True Wide High Resolution 16:9 recording – ideally suited to playback on a widescreen TV. Frame and preview your movies in the proper dimensions on the 2.7” 16:9 LCD screen. To save battery power, choose to shoot using the wide 0.35” EVF (Electronic Viewfinder) instead.

DIGIC DV II
DIGIC DV II was first developed for our High Definition camcorder range but now benefits our direct-to-DVD models. This advanced image processor offers faster speeds and features advanced noise reduction technology, delivering cleaner, crisper pictures. With split path processing it also handles the video and photo signals separately, optimising the colours of each for display or printing.

LCD video light
The LCD screen doubles as a video light when it is turned to face forward. It provides an additional light source, allowing filming to continue in dark conditions.

Advanced photo capture
The DC311 offers additional photo capture – still images are stored on compact SD or SDHC (High Capacity) memory cards and can be printed directly on printers with a compatible memory card slot.
