- The bag is a good idea for portability but it needs a method of closure. The magnetic catch is insufficient. It needs a mechanical catch.

- I'm not very impressed by the docking tray, I haven't got a better idea, but the quality doesn't feel like it matches the rest of the docking station

+ Brilliant sound at all volumes, neat, robust design, thoughtful even to the transformer and cable. No flashing lights or gizmos, just volume. Plays exactly as the iPod is set, and why would you want it any different. Portable, good quality case holds speaker, power supply and iPod well. Good battery life, even at loud volumes.

- A little heavy when you've walked around an airport for hours with it on your shoulder. Remote control could control iPod better, gloss finish on top marks easily, would be better satin.

+ The sound quality can not be beaten and it looks good wherever you take it

- You cant change the album using the remote only go back one song or forward one song at a time but don't let this bother you to much it is a portable speaker system so getting up to change the music is no biggi

+ This was the second PSS we purchased, and from our experience and research the best on the market, for portability (the well designed bag has a place for everything and is very beautifully constructed), for versatility (we can connect every ipod we have, including 3rd gen. plus use a jack to jack cord to play music from a CD player, other MP3 player, mobile phone, PC, etc - anything with a jack outlet) and most importantly for sound quality. We bought the unit to use as the sole source of music for an outdoor wedding reception in Italy. It was so easy to travel with, the battery lasted the whole night (about 6-7 hours of almost continuous play at high volume). It was clear enough to play a range of music, including a classical recording friends had made and a bit of heavy rock (excellent bass!) and loud enough to keep all our guests dancing across the space of a large outdoor terrace. We have used it several times since - camping, on the beach, at other parties etc and it never fails to impress. It also charges your ipod when it's connected to the unit, which is incredibly handy.

- Because of price control this unit is expensive wherever you buy it, but completely worth the money.
Also, the remote control takes a little getting used to. It may be better if future models were based on the control pad of an ipod as the difference between the two takes a little adjustment. It also eats a lot of power to charge itself fully, but once charged lasts for ages.

+ Sound quality is excellent. Yes, it is a bit expensive for what is essentially a speaker, but it is worth paying the extra money. £300 for a lifetime of fantastic sound, or £100 for any other standard docking station which will just sound like you've turned the volume full up on your head phones!! Save yourself time and money and go straight for the Bose system.

- This docking station only works fully with the older ipods (with the scroll wheel on the front). If you have an i-phone or i-pod touch, you will need to connect it via the audio input cable at the back (not supplied) and therefore the remote control will not work. You have been warned!

+ Its contemporary design. It looks good and is unobtrusive in whatever room it is sited. It performs well outside and the portable facilities are excellent. Last but not least the sound is excellent.

+ The sound quality is brilliant. It is a typical Bose product - they do not make any rubbish. So even though they are expensive they still represent good value for money. Put simply, you get exactly what you pay for.

- The sounddock is quite heavy. This matters when you are taking it with you on an aeroplane for instance, but doesn't much matter when moving around the house and garden etc

+ Sound quality excellent for a portable iPod player. Charge iPhone from the battery

- Menu functions on remote is limited to the playlist or album you have chosen. Needs more functionality between the iPod/iPhone menus. USB connection should of been a standard feature

+ The sound quality is wonderful. If you turn the volume up, the clarity does not distort. Far superior to other docking stations. The system is very easy to use and easily portable.

+ It sounds good; It's sleek looking and neat; It's compact and portable; The bag is excellent (allthough you wouldn't know that from looking at Bose's website!!!) - it's stiff, contains pockets to fit the remote, iPod, charger and cables. Note however, that the charger doesn't fit in the pouch that was designed for it, but you can just pop it in the top of the case, no problem and use the power supply pouch for your patch cables :)

- Remote control is rubbish. You can turn the volume and down, skip tracks, and turn the thing of, but that's about it!! The so-called playlist control buttons seem to do random (unpredictable) things, depending upon where you are in the iPod menus. Note that I use an iPod classic 120G, so maybe it just doesn't work well with that, I don't know.

+ The sound quality is absolutely excellent and the unit is so easy to use - it couldn't be simpler to plug in your iPod and sit back to enjoy the sound.

- There are four of us in the house all competing to have their iPod plugged in to it to get the best reproduction. Also it's a great time-waster - plug in, sit down, eyes shut... oh well, that job can wait till tomorrow!

+ Fantastic rich sound quality even at very high levels, looks great and very, very easy to use.

- good battery life but takes quite a while to re-charge fully though this is not a real problem and the battery life is still very good.

- Maybe only that no manual option to alter volume etc. so what if remote gets lost, eg on holiday
