Bosch SGI-45E16 Reviews: Built-in, 59.8cm wide, Grey Dishwasher

+ Quiet, easy to use, washes well.

- Some cycles are a bit long

- Obtaining hardness of water via water company - difficult.

+ Surprisingly easy to install as a semi=integrated design. The old door matching my units transferred easily and the 3 adjustable legs did the height and levelling easily. Washes quietly and well with the time delay allowing it to run overnight on off peak electricity.. Time to finsh display is useful., I also liked the settings for wash tablets rather than powder which allow you to disable or reduce salt and rinse-aid usage. The height adjustment for the top basket is useful if you dishwash large vessels and pans.and the collapsible racking on the bottom shelf creates more space.

- Installation manual is pictures only ; for instance a diagram of a tree means "wood" ! There are 4 wash programs with a vast time gap between the two light washes (28 minute cycles) and the two thorough washes ( 2 hours 20 minutes !!!! )

- Poor design of baskets, nothing seems to fit very well, our old one things fitted in quite easily, had this one 2 months & still having difficulty loading the baskets

Half load facility

- Length of some cycle times is way too long - 140 minutes for a "normal" wash is huge. I always use the quick wash which is adequate in most cases!

+ Everything! It just cleans even on the quick wash setting. So much better than the Zanussi that came with our kitchen. Drying is superb too

- Nothing - this is the best dishwasher I've ever used.

- The door is very dangerous, does not stay down for loading and is rapid in its return on closure, any children would have their hands or face off if in the way of the door. Door must be weighted down to load ... not good

+ Very pleased with this machine, so much so we bought the same model again as we had to leave a very new one in our old property and the one in the new property was not up to the job. The cleaning performance has been faultless, even with baked on food.

- Only real gripe is the instructions which cater for all languages and therefore use pictures rather than text, and could not really get on with the appliance door template that is printed on the large instruction page.

- Not so good loeading cups and glasses. Not enough room for wine glasses, tried lowering baskett but then dinner plates would not fit..

+ The dishwasher is so quiet compared to the last one I had, I have to check that it has come on - you can hardly hear it.

- There are no bad points really, but stacking on the upper shelve is not as easy as it was on previous dish washer, but its still Ok, and I'm really pleased with the dishwasher
