- battery life is beyond a joke. ive had to take out longer cover on my old phone because it is lucky to last 24 hours with hardly any usage. i find myself using my old phone far more than this. even when the battery is flat i have to wait for 15 minutes before use

Score 8.0/10

+ I love the fact that the internet and email is available to me. Not only that, but I can link my current hotmail account to it as well, so I dont have to tell my address book contacts that they need to use a different account to get me. The unit is very funky, loads of apps are available to suit everybody. an excellent camera with good results. I use the alarm function every morning. The text and email notification sounds are turned off by putting it into bedside mode with 1 touch, and when your awake and ready, 1 touch brings them back in to your inbox. The voice command via my bluetooth headset is excellent. Its very intuitive and you can connect with any of your contacts and whichever variant (home, work, mobile), that you need. I can tie up my hotmail calendar into the Blackberry calendar, which is very handy. Sounds are good to Ok with the internal speaker, but as good as a top notch mp3 player via a good quality pair of earbuds.
By the way, its also got an awesome SatNav capability built in. This is free for 1st month and subscription from then on via Vodafone. Google maps can also be called upon via the apps. and utilising the onboard gps you can locate your current position, or even geotag all the pictures you take.

- Can be difficult to prepare an email, especially if you need to go back into an email to add or re-word before sending it. on a few instances, I have lost all the content of that email from the point of the cursor onwards, MUCH to my annoyance and disbelief. I think this is mostly down to big fingers, little screen and quirky touchscreen. It will need a charge everyday, but unless you need it glued to your ear 24 hours a day then that wont be a problem.

The camera takes good photos, which are easy to load onto a computer. Like the positive touch screen and the fact that it is touch sensitive .

+ The blackberry looks great, the menu screen is good for accessing the web, music, or camera.

- The key pad is a nightmare to use. Even with the biggest keyboard my fingers are too fat (I'm only 5'10" and 12 stone!) and I find writing texts takes at least three times as long as my old nokia. Phone features are difficult to access and I haven't found a quick way to get to dial common numbers.

+ Beautiful to look at with great features. I particularly like being able to access my emails at any time. Although I have 2 ipods for my music listening, I like being able to transfer some of my itunes to the phone. The battery life really depends on the amount of usage. Initally it seems fine. Love the phone.

- Takes time to get used to the touch screen keyboard for typing txt msgs. No other problems that I have encountered.

+ The phone looks nice, and has lots of jazzy Aps, Its touch screen is good, and the screen changes from portrait to landscape is different. I,m not very good with phones but this one is not too bad.

- Battery life is hopeless, and as such the phone should be supplied with a spare as standard equipment, had I known at the time, its batterylife was so bad, I would have gone for a different model. A mobile phone is only mobile when its not getting charged and this one gets charged a lot...........

+ Nice, clean, simple main screen. Innovative use of the screen as a button makes direct navigation simple. Excellent communication with various e-mail accounts, web pages. Good GPS, if on 3G network.

- The touch screen does not always indicate the actual position of your finger, so you have to take it a little more slowly. Some video types not supported, which is surprising because they are mobile video files. Battery life not always great - depends how many e-mail and sms accounts the phone has to monitor. Bizarre 3G coverage - middle of nowhere in Northern England - excellent coverage while along the cleveland coastline has virtually no coverage.

Summary of BlackBerry Storm 9500 Reviews from Across the Web

This device is a real rival to the dominance of the iphone. The “clickable” touch screen is a new and exciting development, but arguably this feature will be the one that decides it success. The applications and browsing are very good, as one would expect from a Blackberry, but the Storm does not have Wi-Fi, which could seriously dent its credibility in the Smartphone market. It seems that RIM is targeting consumers and business users with this application packed, slick mobile.
