Score 9.0/10+ The Blackberry Bold is an excellent package especially if you are looking for a phone which can keep you in touch with business and private contacts anywhere and at anytime. The e-mail is outstanding with the amount of accounts you can have - In-fact I can honestly say that in a lot of occasions any e-mails that are being sent to my normal outlook account arrive on the phone before they show-up on the PC which is quite amazing. The quality of the media screen and the graphics are very good plus the memory storage level is quite adequate if you want to use it for, presentation slides and word documents. Speed of downloads again is quite fast Ease of use once you have sat-down and had a play with it is not bad and as a whole the package of the blackberry isn't bad at all.
- Battery life is a concern especially if you are using it for what it is predominantly meant to be used for and that is information such as word documents and presentations. You also cannot pair it to your Tom Tom SAT-NAV in the car which makes it a bit awkward especially if you are on the road a fair bit so the "hands free" is a little bit useless. The other thing which is a bit of a pain is that when your in contacts and you open up a contact to ring or e-mail, once you have used that contact, the blackberry stays on the same contact unless you keep pushing the "go back button" to clear the screen which means you are forever looking down making sure your not deleting info by mistake. Last but not least the quality of the sounds especially if you have loaded your own tunes onto it isn't particularly good, in-fact it's awful.

Score 7.0/10+ Easy to pick up and use even if it your first Blackberry
- Battery life is not great, and once it gets low the signal cuts off with no warning, so you have a phone that is switched on but cannot be used!

Easy to use straight from the box. Qwerty keyboard was a must for me as I email quite a bit whilst on the run. I also love the free Blackberry messenger app, as it's a great way to keep in contact with friends and work colleagues. The screen resolution is amazing.
If you are the kind of person that like to keep in touch with friends on Facebook, Twitter etc then you really can't go wrong with this. I take it with me on photography shoots where I am in the middle of nowhere and can still keep upto date.

Battery life with phone at default isn't the best, but this is pretty easy to sort out by disabling certain features, especially Bluetooth as I don't require that constantly.
The built in camera needs a shutter as dust from your pocket can cover the lens and greatly reduce the quality of the picture. Also for a modern phone 2MP camera just isn't good enough. Then again, I didn't buy for the camera, so that point is rather mute and doesn't take anything away from this fantastic product.

Score 8.0/10+ overall i believe this to be one of the best buys i have ever made< i find the keyboard extremly easy touse, in conjunction with e-mail and txts
- the only two bad points i have about this phone is the battery life and the fact that it does not have helpful things on it like restaurants or taxi firms etc in the area that i may be at

Score 7.0/10+ So much faster than using a PC to check email.
- Battery only lasts about 24 hours, before requiring recharging. My older phones lasted 3 days.

Score 9.0/10+ The phone was very easy to set up especially linking email accounts.
- The worst thing about the phone is the internet browsing which is incredibly fussy about signal and often reports and error in rendering the page even when in the centre of a city where signal strength should be very good.

+ So clear and good range of features
- Inital understanding of options takes some getting use to. Could do with a printed manual as a follow on from the basics.

Score 10.0/10+ I am absolutely in love with everything about the B.Bold and from design to features.
- The battery could be improved a bit for me but I must confess that this might be because I am always glued to my Bold.

+ Its just a nice overall unit and does what I ask of it
- Battery life is a killer and the device manager on the pc is slow as hell to load and carry out tasks. Roxio isn't the easiest application for file management either.

Adam, Heathfield , “Business or web user”
Score 5.0/10+ Easy to use and good e mail. Also quick web browsing.
- Battery life is frankly awful and for this reason I might even have to buy out my contract. I can't imagine I am the heaviest user either but can rarely make it home with my phone working, even though I charge it over night.

Expert reviews for BlackBerry Bold
TechRadar expert review
With its large screen, fast internet connection ‚Äì using both Wi-Fi and HSDPA - camera, sophisticated media player, GPS and more, the Blackberry Bold would seem to fit the profile of an iPhone challenger, but such talk is largely irrelevant ‚Äì the two are aimed at different markets, and while the iPhone might be an excellent entertainment station, the Bold is the one that means business. It makes business look good though ‚Äì all seriously stylish black and chrome with a leather-look textured back that should stop it slipping off those City boardroom tables (which seem a touch shaky…
