Great keyboard for e-mailing and texting. Cracking screen which is nice and bright and videos look lovely on it. The sound from the internal speaker is really good and through the supplied earbuds is very very good.
Just a great phone overall.
-
Out of the box battery life is bad but gets better with regular charges.. DO NOT let the battery run right down, always keep it topped up as modern batteries don't work like older styles. The firmware which comes on the phone doesn't help the battery, a simple upgrade turn the battery into a differnt bit of kit.. i can easily get 3 days from mine now if I turn off the wi-fi and bluetooth while not using them.

This is my first blackberry and I was a bit worried that I wouldn't be able to get used to using it, but I have found the ease of use pleasantly surprising. Its fantastic and not complicated in anyway whatsoever, after I spent my first few days navigating around the menu I can find my way round it and customised it to my own preferences. I actually thought I would spend hours/days on end reading the user guide, but all the help from a user guide is in the phone itself. I dont consider myself to be knowledgeable when it comes to technology, but I would certainly recommend this device to anyone who is unsure about whether or not to have a blackberry or go for a more basic device. Its great, I can't say no more really other than that.
-
I'm struggling here.....but there are two very minor "bad" points. In the help section of managing messages it says to delete multiple messages, hold down the ALT key and scroll down the message list highlighting the messages and then press the menu key and select delete messages. That is wrong, you dont use the ALT key, but the left 'shift/CAPS' key next to the 0 (zero).....oh and the sat nav icon wasn't pre-loaded when it said it should be, but I sorted that out over the phone in less than 5 minutes.

The Bold is undoubtedly the most impressive Blackberry yet. One of its greatest advantages is that having had Blackberrys for a number of years, in spite of its many new features, it feels very familiar. Web browsing is almost broadband speed and its looks speak for themselves.
-
My first Bold had an power key malfunction and had to be replaced. This is the first time I have ever experienced problems with a Blackberry.
The only other criticisms I have is very poor battery life, probably due to the amount of technology it has to support, and the camera specification is not in keeping with such a sophisticated piece of technology.

This is the best phone I have ever had, i would never have another brand of phone. Blackberry's are the way forward. At first, it is not the easier to use. However once you're used to the features and how to use them all, it is an absolute pleasure and nothing is a hardship. The best thing about it is that it is 100% customisable, from the icons on the front to what you want in each folder. This is on top of all the basic personalisation features.

Emails very good. I have quite a few email addresses and have them all on the Blackberry.
Keyboard very good for writing stuff - as I don't do text slang.
The browser is great on mobile sites.
The organiser is good but can't set multiple alarms on an individual appointment or reminder.
Google search and maps add on application is good with GPRS position finder.
-
3G, Orange and GPRS signal is non existent in some areas, rendering the phone and all its features useless - I expected better than this - of course it's not the phones fault!
Browser is not much good when viewing non mobile sites - too much scrolling and zooming in all directions..
Camera is not great quality, and the flash/metering is not intelligent enough to produce decent photos when there is any kind of backlighting to the subject.
No pdf reader
Many of the downloadable add on apps are over expensive and not particularly good - more and better need to be available please.

The Blackberry Bold is an excellent package especially if you are looking for a phone which can keep you in touch with business and private contacts anywhere and at anytime. The e-mail is outstanding with the amount of accounts you can have - In-fact I can honestly say that in a lot of occasions any e-mails that are being sent to my normal outlook account arrive on the phone before they show-up on the PC which is quite amazing. The quality of the media screen and the graphics are very good plus the memory storage level is quite adequate if you want to use it for, presentation slides and word documents. Speed of downloads again is quite fast Ease of use once you have sat-down and had a play with it is not bad and as a whole the package of the blackberry isn't bad at all.
-
Battery life is a concern especially if you are using it for what it is predominantly meant to be used for and that is information such as word documents and presentations. You also cannot pair it to your Tom Tom SAT-NAV in the car which makes it a bit awkward especially if you are on the road a fair bit so the "hands free" is a little bit useless. The other thing which is a bit of a pain is that when your in contacts and you open up a contact to ring or e-mail, once you have used that contact, the blackberry stays on the same contact unless you keep pushing the "go back button" to clear the screen which means you are forever looking down making sure your not deleting info by mistake. Last but not least the quality of the sounds especially if you have loaded your own tunes onto it isn't particularly good, in-fact it's awful.

Easy to use straight from the box. Qwerty keyboard was a must for me as I email quite a bit whilst on the run. I also love the free Blackberry messenger app, as it's a great way to keep in contact with friends and work colleagues. The screen resolution is amazing.
If you are the kind of person that like to keep in touch with friends on Facebook, Twitter etc then you really can't go wrong with this. I take it with me on photography shoots where I am in the middle of nowhere and can still keep upto date.
-
Battery life with phone at default isn't the best, but this is pretty easy to sort out by disabling certain features, especially Bluetooth as I don't require that constantly.
The built in camera needs a shutter as dust from your pocket can cover the lens and greatly reduce the quality of the picture. Also for a modern phone 2MP camera just isn't good enough. Then again, I didn't buy for the camera, so that point is rather mute and doesn't take anything away from this fantastic product.

Great push email, which is really easy to use. The OS as a whole is really simple, no lag time etc.
The browser is much better than expected too - no iPhone beater - but the best non-touch browser.
The facebook's app integration with contacts is pretty amazing as well.
-
The battery life isn't fabulous - I re-charge daily. The camera at 2mp is a little blurry, though the flash is useful.
When you restart the reboot screen is pretty scary and last a long time! A good 5mins of blank screen!
Other than that - perfect! :D

And I absoultly love Blackberry Messenger its great, Saves all you text messages, its fast and easy. My favourite feature.

The ability to access my organiser, e-mails and contacts on the fly is a definitive thumbs up. Gone are the days when I have to boot up my computer, wait for it to load my personal settings and go through the prolonged logging-in process to access my work account. It's all just a few clicks away on my blackberry. The instant messenger function, which can be easily linked to my work one, is also great as I can get in touch with colleagues at the press of a button. As if that was not enough, there is also a navigation function. I just love the phone!

The new IPhone + my Nokia N95 also could use a better camera the one in it is fine though these day's you'd expect at least a 5 megapix camera for a phone such like this one but not to be. I can see the photo's fine but can be better but it has everything else down to perfection .

Using the great facilities of the phone, even for moderate times, kills the battery very quickly.

it is a great device, of course there are things that could be added or be better but I do love my new phone :)

free pdf viewer would be a desired feature as well as a digital radio
unable to plug the headphones in while the leather cover is on, I would add an extra hole in the cover
The short battery life is very anoying.

It's a BlackBerry, possibly one of the best thought out handheld devices I have ever used. I was skeptical at first and avoided getting one for years, but my friend and business partner kept at it and I'm glad he did. Good points: The interface is intuitive and adaptable. The looks are as about as classy as it gets. Good battery life despite online complaints. Sync works great. Definitely the best phone I've ever had.

The camera is terrible, but that's not what I chose this device for.

easy to use with the qwerty keypad, good for browsing the web and being able to email on the go.

rubish battery life, rubish quality of camera, when first getting the blackberry the instructions arent that clever (i had to ask a coleague who already had the phone how to do stuff. he advised it had taken him ages to work it out also), i have been unable to transfer data with anyone via bluetooth.

Everything you can possibly want at your fingertips. It's so easy to use and has so many functions. The coverage from Vodafone is very good for both calls and internet. Where I live is renowned for bad signal, but it doesn't struggle at all. The qwerty keybourd takes a bit of getting used to, but the keys are bigger than it's predecessors, making it a much better experience. I would be lost without it now. The applications that you can get for it are brilliant, even the free ones. I particularly liked the weather forcast from any place in the world and where you are via the GPS.
-
I have none. Some people say that the battery life isn't too good, but it is no different than I expected especially for how much I use it....therefore, no bad points.

Excellent build quality, feels a lot better built than my previous Nokia N96. Screen is really sharp and the demo movie clips look awesome on it. Email of course is spot on, new Blackberry Messenger is really good, sound quality out of the speakers easily rivals most N Series Nokias. Keyboard easy to use (and I haven't got the smallest fingers in the world), Internet browsing with latest firmware updates is pretty fast ignore reviews on other sites and youtube, with the latest firmware there isn't a problem and it can only get better with future releases. And with up to date firmware the phone also runs pretty fast no hanging much at all or needs for reset.
-
Battery life can be limited with wifi on all the time, just switch it off when not needed and problem solved. Only 128mb of application memory, for some reason you can't put other apps on the phone memory or memory card?! This fills up very quickly so don't expect to get many apps on there.

This has got to be the best phone I have ever had. I love the fact I received my emails instantly (I have 3 email accounts) and I don't have to sit at my computer desk to constantly check my emails. The screen size is good and the video quality is excellent. I've downloaded some pretty good apps onto this phone such as the e books, weather reports, and mileage counter. The gps maps are brilliant as is Poynt which is also a gps map helping u to find hotels, restaurants etc.
-
The battery life isn't brilliant on this phone. I get about a day and a half use before I need to recharge it. The camera is rubbish, but it's no big deal if you're like me and more interested in the other features on the phone. There is only one alarm on the phone (which is enough for some people), but I do miss the use of a multi alarm.

So easy to use and everything is in one place, I can text, email and call from one handset and typing is so much faster with a qwerty keyboard. Browsing the internet is exactly the same as browsing from a pc. The look and feel of everything is so much more familiar and therefore user friendly.
-
Battery doesn't last quite as long as I had hoped but I can live with having to charge it every few days for the benefits I get from it.
