I've been a PC user for years and was nervous about buying a Mac but it's the best decision I could have made. The trackpad mouse is brilliant and it's been so easy to use I've barely noticed the transition from a PC.

Simple to use, boots up quickly, the Macbook pro does everything a PC does but faster and smoother. Having one company overseeing both Hardware and software development makes a massive difference to the performance. I think a PC laptop with a bigger spec would struggle to out perform it as there are so many conflicts (between OS and hardware).
.
-
A little light on RAM and the Hard drive will need replacing but at least I know that in a couple of years I'll still be enjoying this machine once they are replaced.

Beautiful design, great screen, fantastic trackpad, nicely weighted and spaced keyboard, Snow Leopard has fixed Leopard annoyances and is faster, excellent battery life with light use. In summary, better than old macbook in nearly every way, SD card slot also very useful (and about time), generally a pleasure to use.
-
Battery drains much quicker under heavy use, base also gets very hot though does not burn like old macbook, case is fairly scratchable, speakers can vibrate through keyboard and are unbalanced due to subwoofer on right, CD drive needs disk pushed almost inside case before they are drawn in. All very minor points which prevented a 10/10 score.

Owned for nearly 2 months, purchased after upgrading from a 4yr old Apple iBook laptop. My work laptop is a HP 6530b with Vista. This laptop came bundled with Mac OS X Snow Leopard - very fast and much easier than any Windows operating system. Very good finish and battery life is very good. Even with heavy usage (backlit keyboard, bright screen, Skype over WiFi, bluetooth on etc) it lasts about 3 hours. For simple web browsing it can last 8 hours. Bought a clear Speck case for it which clips on and really adds to the attractive design while saving it from scratches. Overall better end product compared to the plasticky Windows alternatives.
-
Glossy screen is very reflective and shows marks easily. A bit heavy compared to white polycarbonate Macbook of same size, but it feels more sturdy for it. That's all.

Well, I had switched to the Mac world about a year back, and really enjoyed working on my Macbook (white 2.16GHz Intel Core2Duo). In my opinion, it's not so much the looks or the finish of the hardware that's important. It's just that the Mac OS X is far far superior to anything I'd seen, and certainly better than Windows - in terms of ease of use, performance, stability, anything really.
When I saw the new line of Macbook Pro, in the lovely aluminium body, 7hr battery life, illuminated keyboard, SD card slot, I just couldn't resist the temptation to upgrade. Not that I needed to, but it just seemed so... yummy :-)
What can I say, I just love my new Macbook Pro 13, even though it's the lower spec of the two in that range.
-
A bit expensive compared to Windows laptops of similar hardware specs. But not as much if compared to a similar VAIO or ASUS. Anyway, I think Apple's market share is going up and could further get boosted if the prices are brought down a bit more.

At last a computer thats a pleasure to use. it's even a pleasure to look at! It came with the latest (Snow Leopard) operating system installed although this was not mentioned on the website. My old printer and scanner were instantly recognised and the right software downloaded automatically. An HP printer which wouldn't work under Microsoft Vista now works perfectly. The installed software package, iLife, takes care of all my photo, audio and video needs. The only software I've needed to add was a combined WP, spreadsheet and database package. I used Open Office which is not only a FREE download, but is recommended by Apple and recognises Snow Leopard. It also recognises all Microsoft Office documents even the latest versions. So for the cost of just the laptop I now have a superb facility which outperfoms my previous Vista, Microsoft Office setup. Start up and Shutdown are so fast that I don't always use the Sleep Mode. As a consequence I only need to charge the battery every 3 or 4 days.
-
None so far although I must get a slip case as the beautiful finish of the laptop makes me over protective and worried about scratches!
