Score 10.0/10+ Incredibly portable little mp3 player - ideal for taking to the beach, walking the dog, gym use etc. Small and light + not too expensive so great for taking places where it might get lost / stolen (lets face it, you'd be very unhappy if your iPod touch got nicked!)
- Can't think of any! OK, would be nice to have playlists / screen but this isn't really feasible with such a tiny device.

Anonymous verified purchaser , “56yr old music lover.”
Score 9.0/10+ Small and very easy to use, good sound reproduction for size and is unobtrusive under clothing when worn to the gym or jogging.
- Can not programe music play back other than shuffle. I would rather select the tracks I wish to hear rather than just listening to randomly selected tracks from the list.

Score 8.0/10+ The sound quality is great.
- You cannot fast forward to a selected track number, you have to go through all of them.

Score 8.0/10+ Battery life, compact, sound quality and good value. Ideal for jogging.
- You can't tell what song is coming up - no LCD screen. Can't scroll through selection of songs to find specific album/song.

Score 7.0/10+ It is a good buy in the fact it is cheap, with great sound quality, if I was to break it at the gym or running I wouldn't be upset however, it is a tough little gadget.
- If you want a particular track then it takes a while to find it with no screen, but then if you were worried about that you wouldn't buy this model

Score 8.0/10+ A microscopic masterpiece. If you don't need an entire back-catalogue at your fingertips at any one time this is the player for you.
- You might need to upgrade the earphones.

Score 10.0/10+ Really easy to use, my nine year old loves to add music onto and charge the ipod shuffle.
- It can take more than 24 hours to fully charge.

Vicky, Dagenham, Essex
Score 10.0/10+ It is small & discreet and just clips on where ever u need it to, it is easy to use and would recommend for all abilitys.
- That u are only able to charge it through your computer.

Tejal, Birmingham , “Just had a baby!”
Score 10.0/10+ It's great for a short term fix. If you want more features and capacity, better to look for something else. I found that the i-Pod Shuffle was perfect for a short stay in hospital - easy to load up my fave tracks and great sound quality. Only charged the battery once so far.
- It's probably it's most redeeming feature that it's so small - I worry it'll fall out of my handbag! I can't knock it for anything though.

Expert reviews for Apple iPod Shuffle 1GB 2nd Generation
TechRadar expert review
Of all the iPods in the updated range, the one that's changed the least is the iPod shuffle; compared to its predecessor, it costs the same and offers the same capacity. No new features have been added or optional accessories included. The only change is that the old hot Caribbean-style colour scheme has gone and in its place is the icy, pastel shades of the Christmas 2007 line-up.The new colour scheme is similar to that of the new nanos; instead of black, though, there's purple. This joins the silver, blue, green and the (Product) Red offering. And everything that made the shuffle an a…

It's small. So small that even when we got it out the box knowing that it was going to be small we were still surprised how small it actually is. Hopefully even by now you get the idea that the new look iPod shuffle is small. Cased in the same tough aluminium casing that Apple uses for its MacBook Pro range the small (there's that word again) MP3 player is a tough little cookie...

The iPod Shuffle is the smallest and least expensive of Apple\'s range of MP3 players. However, it has better audio quality than its larger siblings, with clear sound and plenty of bass and treble.
