+ everything, it loads up music really easily - even I could do it. Lots of functionality that I haven't used, all I wanted was something to play tunes on my hols and it did that and with the portable speakers I also brought it was fab!

+ I bought this for my son's birthday and he hasn't stopped telling me how great it is. He's really pleased with it and takes it everywhere.

- I bought this new Ipod Nano to replace one which mistakenly was put in a washing machine! My old Ipod nano could be recharged through the stereo I bought for it, but this model won't recharge so I have to do it through the computer. Other than that, no bad points!

- too easy to accidently switch on or move volume. adding or removing songs or videos with i-tunes is a pain especially when songs tend to sync themselves even when it's set to manually sync!

- Re the software, I had hoped there would be a disk. Instead I had to go to the Apple website and download the software and the manual. As I am on dial up it took six hours to download the former! This was the only bad point.

+ Fantastic sound quality. Very easy to set up iTunes, and syncing the music doesn't take long at all.
Very lightweight and extremely portable - fits happily into jeans pocket, plus the hold switch ensures tunes won't change without your say so!
The shake to skip a tune feature is fun to use - good to have another option on how to change tracks, rather than just pressing the onwards >> button.

- Having tried out the original version of the iPod nano, I must say that the newer version may be a bit more prone to scratches, due to the metallic-style coating. The original version just seems a bit more robust - but I haven't yet discovered any scratches on my new iPod, and I haven't yet got a surrounding case for it.
Another thing I wish the new iPod had is the music quiz, where you are given the intro to a song and then you have to guess which song it is in a multiple choice question. The accelerometer games on the new iPod are fun, but I find I have to be sitting up to play them, rather than lying down, as you then lose sight of the game once you start playing it!

+ I saw someone with an iPod NANO on a recent holiday in Thailand. I had four small MP3 players and thought why not get an iPod and do away with them all. It is perfect for what I wanted and am absolutely delighted that I made the switch.

- the genius is annoying - it has slow songs with fast, so if youre in the mood of only sad songs it has happy songs as well!

- A bit tricky to know what to do when getting started, although there is a good book by rough guides which explains everything that you need to do

+ Excellent well packaged little device. The shake-to-shuffle feature is nice, as is the rotating screen. As with previous ipods it worked straight out of the box with no messing around, got the latest version of itunes from the web, then all my songs were on the ipod within about 20 mins.

- The headphones included aren't the best, they keep falling out of my ears when running.
