+ The Classic is basically easy to use. It's anything above loading music or ITunes purchased media when things get difficult. See bad points.

- Would like to download DVD's on to it for for son to watch while out and about. Apple make things sound so easy [oh yeah!!!], plus want to transfer music from what turned into a family iPod Nano on to the Classic for him to listen. Haven't achieved either of these things. Very disappointed. Want simple not the need for a Engineering/Computing degree to be able to do these things. Plus want to be legal too, so DVD's we buy we would like to be able to put on / remove on the Classic, Feel let down by Apple for the easy of use gimmick/advertising but when it comes to it. Not so. Give me back the Nano!!

- Haven't been able to transfer over videos to my ipod, the software doesn't seem compatible unless I am going wrong somewhere and the wheel seems to stick sometimes so the volume cannot be turned up or down easy

+ Excellent design, intuitive simple controls, incredible memory for the money compared to other makes of mp3 players, good battery life.

- have to convert media to MP3 format. Other makes of Media players accept all formats.

+ The product is very good when it works. The battery life seems to last a while, although I'm told it tends to deteriorate over time.

- Transfering music from WMA files takes too long, as does downloading from a cd. Also if you happen get a new competer which is what I did, you have to re load all the music which is very frustrating. My i pod had frozen once since I got it and after it was reset all the music was still there.

+ The Ipod is easy to use and very portable. My husband uses the ipod when jogging and uses the jogging strap on his arm and finds it very easy to use.

- We are not very technical minded and have yet to be able to put a film onto the ipod, but that is probably due to our non-technical nature, not the fault of the product.

+ the capacity enables me to have all my collection of music at hand at all times wherever I am. Its a music centre, a TV a video player its all things at all times.

- I have yet to find a bad point to this machine.

+ It's an iPod. Easy to use, great sound, great design. Whopping great big hard drive on it, can fit all my stuff on, including lots of videos.
Got it to use on the plane on holiday, it didn't disappoint.

- Headphones could be a little better. Range of features looks a little dated now compared to the new iPod Touch & iPhone. But then, this does have oodles more storage.
Certain accessories (like the camera connector) don't work on the newer iPod Classic, which is why I got this previous version.

- Could be smaller but then I think it aready is in a later version, but its size doesn't hinder me at all.

- Aplles insistance of using iTunes. A litle heafty for use down the Gym.

+ No more carrying a bundle of CD's around in the car, just iPod and FM Transmitter. Better sound quality, doesn't 'bounce' like CD can. Holds more music than I think we will EVER own! Don't know why I didn't do it before.

- FM Transmitter still patchy, trying to find the perfect frequency for our area is difficult but slowly narrowing it down. Problem is you need to sit and go through loads of stations but I am too lazy! Got a couple that work 80% okay and will get better ones when I have time. Downloading music originally very time consuming; took forever but worth it in the end as we now have all the CD's we own on one little box.

+ The battery life is brilliant, as is the quality of sound. It stores my entire library of music and movies with space still left over. It is extremely easy to use and, in my opinion, excellent value for money.

- The only downside I can think of is the fact that the mirrored back scratches extremely easily, even when just in your pocket; but overall it's brilliant.

+ The 80 Gig memory. Such a capacity to have a wealth of music on & images.
The add on stuff available - Speaker docking stations & playing music through the car radio. Such great facilities.

+ Excellent value for money. Super capacity. Stores my entire record collection with heaps left. I can control it from my car console if random play - fantastic although music selection still thorugh the device

- Does not play WMA format but converts to AAV but converted sound quality is dull so rerip from MP3 is better. Adding new MP3/WMA files through software is not intuitive.

+ A very portable device with a nice quality clear screen, I bought it to replace the CD collection in my car and it holds more than enough song tracks for that use. Coupled with an FM tuner it plays through my car radio very well. It also holds plenty of photo's as well.

- I haven't found any down side as yet as I have only had it a month

+ this product is the nokia of mp3 players in my opinion - it is simple to use, stylish to look at and the quality you get from it is second to none - the memory space is extremely extensive and I cannot fault the design features.

- The clicker wheel sometimes jams but only breifly. Back scratched so it now looks a bit naff but i love my ipod.

- Unless you have a converter you can't put music vids on as the ipod doesn't automatically convert into a format it can play which means I have a load of vids I can't watch on it.

+ Great sound quality and can play music in more than three ways, (Album, Artist and Tracks) tracks can be played in playlist such as top 25 played songs, gives the listnser the opportunity to play all their favourite songs one after the other. Great battery life, battery can last up to 2 weeks before it needs charging.

- Battery takes 4 hours to recharge and the product will not support Windows Media Player files direct from Windows Media Player. Needs iTunes in order to sync the music to the product. iTunes can be downloaded from the Apple website. iTunes can take up to 17 Hours to download using dial up.
