+ You can do just about anything on this phone by using apps from the apps installer.

- Updating the phone can be a bit riskey. 3 times I've started an update and 3 times i've received an error message & my phone's then been stuck in recovery mode. Pushing the restore button would only bring up more unknown error messages (usually No. 6 or 13). The only way to sort it is to remove iTunes & all relating software, re-install, then click on restore.

+ The phone looks great and is user friendly with masses of cool applications, music and video are as you'd expect from an ipod while the internet and runs quick enough to enjoy and the sat nav runs quick enough it's worth using.

- it's lack of a flash and it's ringtone choice.

+ it is easy to use, navigation within the phone is very good; also the way in which you store the contacts is very cool.

- apple is new to the mobile phone business therefore I'm not suprised that the basic fuctions of the iphone wasn't very good; what I mean by that is, for example I call xyz while on line to xzy, i wanted to access the main menu! but it is not possible, another point you can not sychronise you iphone with other phones such nokia (even a 3g nokia). However there were a lot of other cool features which where unique to the iphone. Secondly, the battery life was very short, this due to fact that it has internet, ipod and being a telephone at the same time but what I was expecting was to see a longer battery life or a better battery life than a normal phone.

+ Its like having a portable version of my iMac! Easy to use, good network coverage, looks great and it connects to my car stereo enabling me to play music direct from the iPod, so no more CD's in the car. I really like the full web browser as opposed to wap and it connects easily to WiFi access points, being able to add applications is great and i got some really good free ones! Overall its easily the best piece of kit ive owned and will be staying with iPhone from now on, i can now have my phone, mail, web, gps, camera and iPod in one device so i now longer need lots of pockets. Love it!

- As you'd expect it eats the battery depending on what your doing, but it does re-charge super quick. My main niggle with it is that you can't bluetooth to other mobiles etc and no picture messaging.

- Battery life is poor and annoying. Camera could be a lot better and also the in ability to sent and receive MMS messages.

ipod works as well as expected and on board speakers are reasonable quality.
Touch screen works really and is decent size unlike the Prada phone I had previously, turning the phone on it's side makes browsing a lot easier.
The accelerometer is a fun gadget but not one I've used much up to now. maybe get more use in future.

- Lack of texting functions (can't attach photos,can't forward texts,can't save texts as separate items) - if you use text regularly steer clear of this phone.
No video recording facility (on a phone in this price range is disappointing).
Web browser drops out regularly even when connected to wifi network.
Battery life very poor, even with GPS,wifi etc turned off.Would've rated this product 9 with battery as only problem.

+ The interface is brilliant, with the capacitive touch screen making it a very smooth experience. Until you get to winter that is: you cannot use this phone with gloves on (unless you get special gloves: seriously).

- So, cold hands? Look elsewhere (Nokia 5800 Express, for example.) And it is horrible getting data onto/off your iPhone unless you want to be part of the .Mac crowd.

- I didn't realize that you couldn't send or receive photos by text - still baffles me as even really basic phones do this - also the camera isn't brilliant you can only zoom in after you have taken the photo which is annoying - but even with these negatives it Is still a brilliant phone!

+ The iphone just works so well straight out of the box. The interface is very intuitive and the consitency across the range of applications is very good. I have used a wide range of computers and have found this system to be one of the most stable and reliable from first use, no resets needed. The range of third party apps is expanding well at this early stage.

- A few minor software niggles like not being able to cut and paste but upgrades and stand alone apps will address those in time.

+ software is great and so east to use. The organiser & email features makes my life so much easier so i now don't have to carry my laptop everywhere. 3G speed so im not waiting forever for it to load. The fact that i dont have to carry my phone & my ipod around everywhere. Great apps so i can keep myself & others entertained. Looks & feels great. Being able to sync contacts with exchange and sync my calender makes my life is soo much easier now.

- Battery life is not as good as it should be. You would of thought that after the first iphone they would have been able to develop the battery to last longer considering the new iphone can now do a lot more than the first and sooo many people were unhappy with it. The fact that you cant capture video & the camera is only 2MP...most of the other smartphones out there has this feature. Not being able to forward sms is kinda annoying because u have to either send it as email or type the whole thing out as a new sms.

+ Well, the obvious thing to say about this phone is its looks. It looks gorgeous. The web browsing on the phone is great as you can manipulate what is displayed on the screen very easily. In fact the phone itself is very easy to use.

- The battery life isn't great and I wish the phone had MMS functionality. Until Apple update 2.1, the signal for 3G was not good at all in weak 3G areas. This has now improved.

+ a lot of thought has gone into making it easy to use and instinctive controls. Some great personal touches e.g. Using the contacts detsils and gps to plan routes. Seriously good screen for videos and great app development due to it's popularity

- battery life isn't terrible but it isn't great it has a nasty habbit of running out when u don't want it to such as after long journeys when you've been using it to listen to music, using the gps or watching videos

+ its the perfect phone . it has all the features you need and anything else is probably in the app store! but so what it lacks in some features such as bluetooth but it makes up in email,calender,stock ect

- snyncing it with the pc to put songs on it is the most annoying this in the world

+ intuitive - my 4 year old borrows it and uses it without instruction for hours playing downloaded games
everything is easy and simple
linkages with main web sites like ebay, wikipedia youtube facebook etc are extremely simple
sturdy (dropped on concrete twice!) and only very minor scratch on black casing but might get a protective screen cover nonetheless
maps and satnav directions - ok you dont get spoken instructions but you can navigate anywhere in any city easily with the highlighted route option
I cant possibly go on as I'd be listing good points all night...

+ apart from the points below the product is excellent all round. Ive always been a nokia man but am a total converted now however i do think apple need to pick up on the bad points below.

- it needs full bluetooth capabaility with all other blutooth devices.
it needs to be able to utilise full MMS and not through the O2 website. it needs to be able to send MMS to other mobile devices direct for viewing.
the camera needs to be pushed up to 4+ megapixel and add good video capabilty. you could argue you dont need it but if its there i want quality and this lets apple down

Very easy to use, and it's handy to have everything on one device: iPod, Phone, Internet, Games...
It's like having a laptop with you everywhere you go.
Lots of storage space for just the 8GB: photos, music....
It's a very good looking phone!

- Battery life makes it unreliable.
Need more options e.g. SMS forwarding, copying and pasting.
Sometimes have to reboot because the typing on text is slow and can't keep up.
Looks great but gets smears easily and you can't get rid of them.
Could have a better quality camera for such an overrall good phone, 2mpg is pretty poor.

+ perfect if you want to stay in touch and organized when out and about, and great entertainment features when you have time to chill out.

- not a big issue but I find it a bit slipy to hold onto when using the camera, but I've ordered a rubber cover so that. Should sort that!

The device and all the software are beautifully designed - everything is a pleasure to use. The app store enables you to extend the functionality of the phone and personalise it for your own needs. I love iPhone!

+ I like the fact that i have one thing that does multiple tasks, for example email and MP3 player. It keeps me connected and entertained.

- I dislike the fact that you cant delete individual texts. I would also like to be able to send picture messages - not email as is currently available but by sms. Also i would like to be able to send pics etc to other mobile phones by bluetooth. It would be good to have MP3 ringtones. Oh and we really need to loose the quacking ducks sound file :)

+ Great piece of kit and very easy to use. The software available at the application store (I usually only download the free ones) make the Iphone very multi purpose. A classic, which all the others try to copy.

- Battery life is not the best, whether you use it or not, you have to charge it every other night, and when the battery indicator less that 60% there is a good chance that the battery will be dead before the morning, so don't rely on it as an alarm clock!
