Alphason Ambri ABR1100-B Reviews: Black Wood TV Cabinet for for 50" TVs TVs

+ Looks good, matches my new widescreen beautifully. I can put all my 4 top boxes ie; SKY+, BlueRay DVD etc away and also store DVDs and File Boxes with plenty of room for heat disappation.
It took me two days to assemble as I am quite disabled. But any abled body should do it in a couple of hours. The instructions were easy.

- Gets dusty as all things do.

+ Looks classy, simple and minimalistic and I am pleased with this purchase.

- Takes time to assemble

+ Looks good. We may put window black film on the front glass. I think that thhis would look better.

- We had to re-arrange the inside which means we can't use the shelves on one side as the amplifyer did not fit in. The amp is big but not particularly an unusual size.

+ Any flat screen tv is set of by its modern appearance with sleek lines, yet fits into any room. No knobs or handles to knock oneself on and window front adds to the appearance.

- None that we have noticed so far.

+ Love the look and the the smooth door action.

- Could do with better ventilation. I generally leave the door open when my amp and xbox is on etc.

- The glass door folds downwards, so lots of space in front of the unit needs to be available.
The painted finish is attractive but unlikely to be durable.

- Takes a long time to set up (approx 3 hours), but good looking, sturdy and well made once assembled.

+ Stylish and doesn`t appear too large for the room but accommodates my four electronic items adequately.
It looks really good in the room and the slow opening door (adjustable) works very well.

- Possibly could make the cable holes slightly wider and lower at the bottom but maybe I`m being too picky..!

+ Looks fantastic (when dusted) - and has a solid, quality feel to it. Castors underneath are a very good idea, especially on hard floors, and stays have adjustable damping so door action can be made stiff enough to resist child entry. Was the only product on the market at any price that did what we were after - which was to be a secure enclosure for our AV equipment to protect it from our children.

- This is the hardest flat-pack I've ever assembled, as poorly designed in places. Took an hour to assemble. Cable access in the rear panel is poor as the holes are too small. Centre section needs cable access via rear panel but doesn't have it - you will end up taking a holesaw to it eventually. Attracts dust like a magnet.

+ It looks really great and you can decide where to put the shelves, the height anyway. It is a very substantial piece of furniture. It was easy to make, after i had found the right tools, and it was very heavy, would have been easier with two people, but i managed.

- None really, maybe a bit fiddly to wire up equipment, but then with so many wires any piece of furniture with a back on it would be the same.

+ Stunning good looks, compliments black LCD/Plasma televisions beautifully. Plenty of room for your consoles, mine holds my Xbox 360 and PS3 with ease with more storage for other AV equipment. Also does a good job of hiding cables but I would recommend leaving the back off so your equipment doesn't overheat!

- If I had to pick one the glass door can slam if you don't ease it down gently plus the assembly can be a little daunting if your not great at putting things together but apart from that it's pretty flawless and great value for money.

Door hinges do not allow the door to open fully which is fine in day to day use but not so good when you need to remove appliances or get to the back of them etc.

+ Looks absolutely fantastic!! Really pleased with this stand. Looks as if it was specifically made for my 46" Sony Bravia. It houses my blu-ray, amp, vcr and sky box and looks the business! Really glad I didn't go for another stand.

- Took me over 3 hours to put it together so would have preferred fully assembled but if you stick with it, the end result is stunning! The instructions could also have been better but thats flat pack furniture for you. Take care when using screw drivers as its easy to scratch it! I made a very small scratch, but luckily it's on the inside of the door and not noticeble. Also, there isn't much space for cables round the back, the holes could have been bigger, but all in all I still love it!
