+ Cool stylish looking netbook, really lightweight with the best netbook keyboard around

- The touchpad is a real weak point, to save case depth Acer have moved the buttons to either side of the pad making it really awkward to use. I'd much rather they'd put in a slightly taller screen and normal buttons The other major bad points were the issues with the battery, I had to get a replacement as it wouldn't charge and the BIOS has also died so the machine won't boot at all, I'm about to return it for a replacement

+ They are the ease of use and portability. I now use the internet and email a lot more than when I just had my desk top.

- Battery does not last very long

+ light versatile and fast, nice choice of colors, camera fantastic v. surprised

- video ram low but displays are clear

+ Small, cheap and is a similar spec to netbooks double the price A great hackintosh if you are willing to swap out the wireless

- slightly loud, terrible battery and god damn terrible buttons for the track pad( I was willing to put up with these when I bought it but finally relented to buying a logitech nano receiver mouse - really good)

+ The keyboard is great nearly full size, the trackpad works well as well and screen is good, performance is adequate in 1GB of memory running XP and firefox/openoffice.

- the amount of bloatware that comes pre-installed.

- No real bad points but if anything the mouse buttons are a bit fiddley.

+ Small, good battery life for size. Screen quality is suprisingly good.

+ Great laptop for my 12 year old daughter. Linux operating system is really easy to use, and she uses OpenOffice for her homework - which can be saved in MS Office format if required. Looks good, and she has had many of her friends admiring it. Great price too.

- Battery life is not as good as some more expensive models, but hasn't been a problem.

+ I recommended the same machine to two relatives who are aExcellent value for money. Nice and compact for taking away in my motorhome! I recommended this netbook to two relatives who then bought from you and are similarly satisfied.

- Battery life, while not actually 'bad', has to be watched carefully. All things are to some extent a compromise though and compactness inevitably means a battery of manageable size.

+ So small and light, fantastic screen clarity, the keyboard is surprisingly easy to use even with my fat man sausages, it's also very well laid out and the keys are all where you would expect them to be. It looks sleek and stylish, everyone always gives it second look when I'm out and about. The wifi connection is perfect when stationary not so great on the train, bus etc. but there are 3G cards that will work with this model so that really is not a problem.

- The big one is the battery life, less than two hours on the standard 3 cell, although getting a 6 cell is a good move, it's a little bigger but the battery life is around 5 hours, well worth the upgrade and the addition weight is really insignificant on something so small.
The speakers are number two, they are placed underneath and sound really bad, really tinny no bass, no mid. Although the sound chip is actually quite good and this is evident when used with headphones or a nice pair of portable speakers, I've not yet sat on train without my headphones when watching a movie or doing some work, so it's not really an issue.

+ Its small light and totally portable. I love it. It took a bit of getting used to the size of the key board, and to start with I miss typed as the keys are a little smaller but soon got used to it.

- The only bed point is that sometimes its size means I can't see the whole picture,
For example if I want to play scrabble on face book i can't see the whole board unless I make the screen smaller but them its hard to see as the words are so tiny.

- not much space on it, dont like the layout of the desktop

- no bad points although the battery life isn't great. I bought a better battery and it now last 8 hours... well worth the extra cash.

+ Great product, installed xp onto it and was really impressed. Not a big fan of linux. Also compatible with Windows 7, this ran smoothly but i did not like it personally.
As expected, even with the codec 1080p files did not play well, and personally i have struggled to play 720p on the screen, but i have heard this is possible.
Keyboard is great to use, unit is v light and it is simply very usable.

- Battery life is pretty poor, 2:30hrs average use. Would recommend a larger 6/9 cell battery, but they make the unit look bad. Personal choice, but i got another 3 cell battery as I use it quite frequently.

+ Cheap, works well

- Mouse pad is a little clunky and can often cause the mouse to behave strange when you are typing. Also would have been nice to have had built in bluetooth.

+ Good wireless range. Runs most software very well. Bright, crisp display. Well built unit. Quiet.

- Operating system - linux, without Windows this is just an expensive calculator and its quite tricky to get Windows onto it (but worthwhile). Takes some time to get used to the touch pad and small keyboard. Inexperience computer users may find it difficult to put programs onto it.

- Nothing particularly bad to say, would have liked to have been able to increase the graphics memory slightly but this is not possible.

+ Looks great and performs really well. Worthwhile paying a little extra to have Windows rather than Linux.

- Screen hard work if you are working on it for a long while, but then again the small screen is the whole point.

+ Does exactly what it says on the box, ideal for my 10 year old son.

+ Very portable and quite powerful for a netbook

- Battery life is slightly short than 3 hours and a bit more would be alwasy welcome. It makes the laptop really light at 0.9kg so it is perfer to carry it in a small bag.

+ Take it anywhere really impressed with it origanally bought the kids one each so impressed bought my self one. buying one for the other half when she starts uni.

- battery only lasts a couple of hours and the os isn't brilliant but i downloaded linux4one and that works everything straight out of the box.

+ Easy to throw in a bag and take anywhere. Plenty of memory for my music while I am away from home and great for the internet. Boots up very quickly, better than my more expensive laptop.

- some programs seem to need windows to work and Linux is not alway compatible. haven't been able to get the web cam to work with messenger yet.

+ Nice and light,, good design, nice keyboard that is only slightly smaller than a normal one. Screen is really clear and bright.

- battery life, two and a half hours average and that's just IM and inet but purchasing a 6 cell battery is always an option. If you buy the linux version it is nothing like windows so be prepared to take linux lessons or install windows.

- Came with an older limited functionality version of open office, not a problem to upgrade but a pity it didn't have all the elements in the first place. Only word, spreadsheet & powerpoint clone included.

+ Linpus easy to use, works out the box, quick boot up, great for mobile use and taking on holiday to surf and emails, wireless connected easily to hotel networks, (possibly easier than windows xp),connecting via lan was fine too. Good value, just remember its not a full size laptop. I took it on holiday and it fullfilled my expectations.

- Can't upgrade or add software easily unless you are familiar with linpus/linux o/s, ( there is an updater installed but reliant on update service being updated, at time of writing firefox 2 installed aug 09) but no problem to install xp if desired. Battery life a few hours, but to be fair I'd expect most users to be connected via the power supply.

- although is understanding cause its size memory is too small specially considering symilar new notebooks in market. Battery last 3 hours is ok but it could be improve. Noise of ventilator could be improve and make less noisy.

+ very lighweight and portable. ideal if you are just checking e-mail etc and other small internet applications. More than enough memory and excellent for keeping all itunes etc on. Plenty of USB ports and good wifi connection.

- not the best for general use, word documents and such. The keys on the keyboard feel a little cheap and mouse pad can be a bit annoying to use. I'd spend a little bit more and get a slightly more functunal unit if doing anything more than checking e-mail.

+ Nice solid design, good compromise of price/performance. Excellent screen and keyboard.

- Linpus Linux is a little dated, and does not directly support some of the newer applications for Linux, e.g. OpenOffice 3. Fan is a bit whiny. Could do with a more compact mains adaptor solution, especially with the somewhat limited battery life (thanks to small, light battery).

+ Its sharp and snappy at loading and using things like word. I was in ireland over the summer and took it to a pub where the battery lasted over 3 hours on one charge!! Writing this review now and the keyboard is really good and easy to use. Nothing amazing but works very well for its purpous.

- Firefox lags quite badly at times. Randomly crashes.

+ It's a nice compact designed notebook.

- Maximum memory of 1.5GB, if you use Microsoft Windows XP Pro or Vista, then 2GB or more would be better!

- Could use a bit more guidance on the whys and wherefores of using a Linux loaded machine - it is just sufficiently different to Microsoft based software to seem difficult!

+ The size is excellent, I always said I wouldn't have a laptop until I could fit it in a normal bag. I like the keyboard and it's ease of use especially the number lock.

- It came with Linux and open office which I did try for a week but found various problems using it so I have now had windows put on it.

+ Great machine - this is the 3rd I have bought. Even better with memory maxed out, faster hard drive, 8 hour battery and XP-Pro.

- PIty about needing to flash the BIOS when it fails to boot, although that hasn't happened on this machine yet.

+ Small, light, cheap... battery life useable for many purposes. Will run serious software, not limited to basic entertainment uses.

- Obviously the screen resolution takes some getting used to, but that wasn't unexpected. Linpus isn't as feeble as some suggest, but it needed a kernel recompile in order to run a firewall. I wasn't getting involved in that with such a specialist distribution and hardware, so it now runs Ubuntu. As one of the main uses for a machine this size is mobile work, on public wi-fi and 3G, a firewall is not optional.

+ Its just what I wanted, works fine, extremely portable. Excellent value for money. Keyboard good size for touch typing.

- The mouse pad is a bit sensitive, but it can be adjusted. This sometimes results in your cursor moving to somewhere else if youre a touch typist. Sometimes doesnt pick up wireless signal, but this might be my mobile routers fault as it occasionally happens with PC. This is easily resolved by reboot.

+ I was very impressed with my purchase as the grade A1 netbook was in a mint condition with all accessories and manual intact. It arrived the following working day earlier than I had expected, The price was very reasonable. I have upgraded mine to windows XP professional and its been serving me perfectly without issues.
