The overall look of the set is pleasing, not to shiny and imposing.I like the sound quality as I have previously had surround sound, I did not want to have the clutter of speakers all around the sitting room.The picture quality is very good in a large room

Only one small thing. The blue standby light is VERY bright when the TV goes off. We have this TV in the bedroom and unfortunately unless one of us gets out of bed and actually turns the TV off at the socket, the brightness of the blue light is like having left a lamp on and invariably will wake one of us up during the night.

No bad points regarding performance however the glossy black of the TV frame attracts dust like nobodys' business!

the speakers are facing down towards the stand as opposed to out towards you. At times, it sounds like its speakers are inside a bucket!

The sound quality is not as good as I would like and I have to put it on a fairly high setting to hear it.

Very easy set up with good hand control and fast response. Great picture and especially like in built freesat. HD reproduction from BCHD is superb. As is sound when connected to Panasonics lowest priced home cinema system.

Full HD and 100Hz with good range of adjustments via menu(s) to personalise and optimise picture. I particularly like fact that base colours can be individually adjusted as well as tints to get as near to exact requirements as possible. With Sky HD the results are brilliant, and the inbuilt DTV tuner also provides excellent reception. Sound is quite good with adequate adjustments provided for base plus output for optional sub which I have not yet used. The gloss black finish and relatively slim frame of the LCD (37inch) is very acceptable. Installation and initial set up was simple, whilst the instruction manual provides additional reading for more detailed adjustments. My wife and I are well pleased with both performance and appearance of this Toshiba LCD TV.

Bought for use in bedroom and very happy, the picture quality is great and sound is very good on the inbuilt speakers. I like the functionality of the EPG with the current channel still displayed whilst checking the guide and its quick when changing channels.

like the switch off mode when no signal is being received. nice looking - very pleased that it has a true 16:9 screen ratio which stops the stretchy look of most other 19" and 22" tv's

Need I say more? Well then, I particularly like the comprehensive programme menu. No doubt I shall discover other good points when I am inclined to put my mind to the subject.

The sound quality on this TV like most LCD TVs is quite poor, so I would suggest an external sound system.

Like many others I have experienced some very minor clouding issues in the top corner of the screen in very dark scenes but to be honest it's only something you would notice if you were really looking for it.

Beautiful design, easy to use and set up. Picture on SD Sky is pretty good but can really show up the imperfections of some channels broadcast quality. Got Sky HD being installed soon so I hope to optimise the features of the set then. If HD is anything like the quality of the picture when using my upscaling Sony DVD player then I will be a happy man as when playing DVD's it's so good it looks almost 3D.

Switching between inputs takes a bit longer than I would like - but I'm being very picky as we are only talking a matter of a few seconds.

A bit disappointing that this particular model did not come with the 100mHz function like the rest of the range and the sound is a little tinny.

Easy setup. Gaming experience is even better than I expected; xbox 360 games look fantastic. Fine for SD viewing of regular television, like all HD quite fuzzy up close. No problem with sound except you have to turn it up a bit more for DVD than you do for anything else. Good value for money, stylish TV.

Excellent picture quality with good depth and could not fault the price - v good vfm; also good connectivity options; like the cable box at back to keep all wires out of the way.

like most modern flat screens, its a nice looking piece of kit which takes up little space. This LG has great sound and picture, the sound can appear surround or panoramic at times. a great feature considering the speakers are hidden around the sides. A very user friendly tv at a very competitive price bracket.

would like to be able to turn OFF rather than to STAND BY as light is quite large.

It dosent display blacks like a CRT set, but I accept this is inevitable with thi s technology.

This television is absolutely fantastic! Plays movies off my ipod which saves me from scrambling through my DVDs. The fact that there is also a menu where the TV can work through the ipods menu, means that photos can be played through the TV, so it is like a 19inch digital photoframe! 10/10

Its black and the static attracts the dust like you would'nt believe but I suppose they're all like that. A better duster or cleaning equipment supplied would go a long way.

Very easy to set up, got it up and watching really quickly. Sound quality is good but wouold be even better if we attached our surround sound system, it is not needed though. Like the way you can move the picture up and down and position scores or information that is often only half visible at the top or bottom of the screen.

The frameless design is very cleverly thought of and is very slim in width all the way round the screen compared to a framed plasma although we have chosen the 50" plasma it is a good size for any room, we also have a 42" plasma and the difference in the size of the screen is amazing. With the home sound surroundings it is definately like sitting at the cinema the sound and effects are first class.

i like the look of it, the small frame is definately good. the set up was easy and the remote is clear, and easy to understand even my 84 year old mother has got use to it after a week

A good all round buy (in spite of the negatives listed below). Especially for someone like me who has only ever had an old fashioned traditional TV prior to this. It's a good product to make the transition with.

The LCD picture seems to be more contrasty than my old CRT. On outdoor scenes to get texture and detail into the shadows leaves the brighter areas like sky or sunlight on water much less textured and detailed even burned out white in places. Still for normal viewing off soaps and sports etc its good.

I don't like the way that DVDs look they seem very cold and I think they looked better on my old analog tv. the only reason that I changed was that everything is in wide screen now and I got fed up watching through a "letterbox".

I love the Samsung TV! Very easy to install the channels and the sleek design looks great in my living room. I thought I'd like the 37" better however the 32" is just perfect.

The speakers are well hidden, the inputs are easy to access and has an optical out for my sound system and I like the built in cable tidy and the menu's to set up the tv and general use are nice and simple to use.

Fantastic value. Full HD is amazing. Nice and compact, does everything you expect. Has all the interfaces you want. Sound quality - no complaints. I can't understand what more you would get with makes like panasonic other than having to pay out another couple of hundred pounds.

There is a good array of connections, however if you entend to use the scart socket be sure its not a scart converter. When using the 3 composite jacks into scart box, like alot of people do with consoles, the connection cover plate is too small. So if your going to be using scart this way, be aware that it can look a little garish staring at the connections and wireing. Other than that, everything is great.

Picture colours not entirely life like

It is a very good quality picture, for my aged uncle (83) his TV is his only regular source of entertainment, the Panasonic TV has been a revelelation to him and he enjoys it very much. He likes the fact that he only has to operate one remote for all access to the numerous freeview channels and has had no difficulty in the operation of the set. This is a good result for Panasonic, as the engineers who designed the hand set have obviously responded to user feed back. Well done Panasonic!

I have 3 of these samsung tvs of different sizes, i personally like the styling and glossy piano finish.

picture quality, keep having to adjust brightness as picture is always too black, i.e. images look like negagtives sometimes

really good viewing angle from sides, almost 180 degrees. Unlike many LCDs, picture doesn't look like video.

The image isn't great, and the refresh rate is poor (when credits are going across its almost like they're stuttering), and the sound is quite tinny. But if its just for bedtime viewing like us, its fine and I recommend it.

Takes a while to get to the control device, but like everything else, you get there in the end!

picture breaks into pixels nearly all the time, quality of picture is bad...people look almost cartoon like some of the time!!! If faces are close up they look ok, otherwise they look blurred and feature - less !! Cartoons actually look good on the tv, but real people have a very un-real look !!!! Would NOT recommend this TV to anyone!!!!!!!!!!!

My last Sony had a 100Mhz refresh rate so it was with a bit of doubt that I went for this model at 50Mhz. I cannot understand why Sony would make a retrograde step on a large screen TV. With such a large screen there are sone issues with fast moving scenes or when watching sport but not so much as to detract from the excellent price I purchased the TV. Utlimately something like the 46Z4500 with 200Mhz is the way to go but then again that television is twice the price of this one.

Picture highlighted only RED or BLUE, rest was black and white. We couldn't improve it. Sound was like an echo chamber with words jumbled together.

Had a 32 inch samsung lcd and liked it so much wanted my Sky HD to benefit on a good quality TV

I have mounted it on my wall but does not look right due to the bulky bottom for the ipod. looks like its not ment to be mounted on the wall even though i bought the correct bracket that was recommed for it.

Will only switch off to stand-by mode - you have to unplu it to switch off completely but this seems to be like most tv's of this sort

I like the size as it really fits into the room. The design is really good although I would have liked to have a choice of colours between silver and black. The picture quality is excellent and is especially good for the HD picture.

The information booklet reads like a scientific manual - and I am a scientist - it is not user friendly for the great number of middle to older aged people that will be changing to digital in the near future - a decision that has been 'forced' on them, and therefore they will be a wee bit anti! You need to make it a bit more basic just to get them on-line. In due course their kids will help out!! We are still struggling to get a full and comprehensive digital reception. Until this week we could only receive the BBC channels and ITV 1&2. With the snow we lost all reception and have now reverted to analogue.

for the price this tv is excellent value for money, picture quality is really good and it has a simple and sleek style. the remote control is good and the teletext has some nice features like half screen and moving between screens on the same page number.

would have liked to have had a five year guarantee

I like the fact that I have everything in one product. I was able to reduce my electrical items. I have now got rid of a telly, dvd player, free view and stereo and replaced it with my new telly, free view, DVD player and ipod docker in one.

Had this system for about 2 months now and have no real problems. Buttons are on top of set so it does make it a bit difficult if like us you want to wall mount it.

Very pleased - have had Philips before - like their picture.

Have not real come across any major bad points, would like to update the firmware on the TV as there is an update for this TV but I have to wait for LG to put out the automatic update on the airwaves to get it, would prefer a system I could update manually. The LG HT503 PH Home Cinema DVD player is set to region 2 which does not help as I feel all DVD players should be region free.

LG 42LG7000 HDLCD has everything you could want in terms of connections to all your other gadgets (Games console - DVD/Blue ray player - Sky box - MP3 player - Home cinema system and bluetooth for mobile phones or headphones), it looks fantastic and is worth spending a little bit extra on a TV stand to make your livingroom look like you are a millionaire. The LG HT503 PH Home Cinema just adds to the whole package but the sound from the TV is good enough without it.

sound is like cheap automotive speakers placed in a cereal box for an extra "cardy" sound. this seems to be the ONLY cost compromise on this machine, so i cant really complain at that i think the manufacturer expects the user to enhance own sound with a home cinema unit.

can't 'turn off'' standby only @ 1watt ! no too much of a problem, bit slow to respond to commands from remote, sound slightley tinny but good enough for bedroom or diner ect... and you don't buy small sets for big sound do you!, side opening dvd tray, make sure you got room to use it, no good in a tight space like a tv cabinet ect...or against a wall!!.

Would like it to have an OFF button rather than just standby - have to unplug it each night. Sound on number 1 is still too loud at times and of course it can't go any lower without being off!!!

The piano black frame tends to collect dust which is why it comes supplied with a cloth! Anyone who has a fear for technology may find the set up a little daunting to start given the wealth of functions. Like most sets designed for HD reception, non digital and auxhilary input is not displayed to its best.

Excellent picture quality, especially with standard definition signals (Sky, terrestrial, DVD). The HD picture is really good (remember Sky HD etc. only broadcast in 1080i which matches this TV perfectly!) 100Hz scanning (great for fast moving action like sport and action films). Sound quality is above average for flat screens, good bass and volume. 3 HDMI inputs. 2 Scart inputs (RGB). Built-in digital freeview and analogue tuners. SD card reader built in. Nice remote. Nicely designed.

Excellent with the remote control, making the viewing of the programms easier to get. The list is shown on the screen and you can pick which programm you would like to watch without looking up the TV times etc.

Poor 'feel' to buttons on the remote. I would like to be able to swith it off rather than have to leave it on stand-by all the time. VERY limited horizontal viewing angle. Really annoying! This appears to be a feature of LCD TV's that you need to pay closer attention to than I did! It is the one negative that prevents me recommending others to purchase it.

good all round tv, great for any room, despite its small size. would recommend to any one plays dvds, would like it to play divx, but hey, what tv of this size has a usb port and sd card slot i have an xbox playing through the component inputs at a minimum of 720p, not bad at all

I'm not an expert in sound and vision quality, but for the layman this TV has great picture quality, it is very easy to to set up and overall I am very impressed. I particularly like the the fact that the controls on the TV are touch sensitive, (no buttons).

Can't find a way of switching it off, it's either on standby or you have to unplug it and we can't reach our plug so always on standby, which is not good when we are supposed to be saving the planet, and also when you change channels i would like to see the title of what you are watching as you turn over, you have to put info or guide on, i would just like to see as you are using channel up/down

None apparent at the moment. An inbuilt freesat decoder, like Panasonic would have been nice!

I suppose like any combi dvd the quality is not going to be the best. About every other dvd I watch it always gets skips. The position of the dvd player does not allow the dvd to actually be put in a secure position when it is played.

The instructional manual is packed with too much technical information that need to be mastered such that non technical folk like me, find it a bit daunting to grasp

Looks beautiful. Menus are all easy to use and well-designed. Was easy to set up and works well with other equipment like the Wii.

Like the swivel feature, the overall appearance is fantastic, the image is very crisp sound is fine but we line out into cinema system

just picking but would have liked to still be able to adjust the sound on the tv whilst headphones attached -ie when headphones on all sound is directed through them.why may you ask would you want that well if two people are watching the tv and one is hard of hearing they can listen through their earphones without the tv volume being at full blast.

Remote needs to have buttons held down for longer than I would like before they take effect.

Clear sharp picture, stand, set up. haven`t experienced motion blur on footie yet.Great reception on all digital channels. Dvd playback and recordings are like original broadcast.Outstanding value for a top brand manufacturer.

Gorgeous tv with a real state of the art look about it. Very easy to setup with the aid of the very basic manual and detailed instruction cd rom. the intelligent sensor for brightness and contrast is a great addition as too is the bluetooth. Its like having a giant digital photo frame in the living room. The 100Mhz is also a definite bonus to picture quality and I'm so glad I waited for it.

The one minus point that I have found to date is that being edged in a very shiny Black, it does show the dust up a bit more than I would like, & when it is hung high on the wall I am a bit short to dust it easily. That's IT, the only negative thing about this lovely TV.

Excellent Design, crystal clear picture and all the cute gadget bits like freeview, USB connector etc. It is amazing what a jump to 50,000:1 resolution provides. Not used it with HD yet, but normal TV is excellent.

Nice sleek design, without any fussy bits around the sides like other TVs. Picture Quality is very good, as you would expect with a 1080p. The option is there to manually play around with both the picture quality and graphic equalizer or you can use the pre-set options. The auto-tuning is very quick- within 5 mins of plugging my TV in I was watching my fav programme.

Very good picture quality and the sound is really good too. I like the black finish, it looks very smart. Brilliant price, I was so pleased with mine my sister bought the same television.

Great design/colour of back of the TV is great as well. Like the dinky on off switch at the bottom too.

Sound is quite acceptable, but like many slim frame TVs not a lot of sound richness.

i liked the look and colour of the tv the image is good, but the sound lets it down.

I'am not a technicfile person but found the menu easy to use. I like the stand which allows me to swivel the tv to veiw and then park it flush with the wall when not veiwing. A lot more connections for add ons than I thought there would be considering the price.

Picture resolution is a bit blurred on things like snooker tables.

Beautifully designed. Visual quality on shows like Skating on Ice are excellent. Clarity and richness of colours are magnificent. Sound is good.

Like to see Panasonic increase the efficiency of its light sensors

I like the design and when i bought this lcd i was surprised with its picture quality...you don't need to buy a blue ray player or subscribe for hd boxes to watch your programs or movies in high definitions. this is the one i or you need.

I am very happy with my Television looks are nice all so like how the stand turns so you can watch from any angle.

watching football,when the tv camera zooms in the picture is excellent,when it zooms out some players faces are a blur,and there seems to be patches of blur randomly across the screen,like opaque bubbles, as though the action is to quick for the telly to react and focus

Very Easy to set up - The sound quality is very good. THe pciture quality is very good although if you sitmtoo close, like my kids always try and do - it can seem a tiny bit blocky - But overall I am very pleased.

The speakers are hidden. While this may seem like no bad thing, I expected a better bass resonance with this product due to relected sound. Unfortunately this brings a slight tinniness to the overall sound.

First of all is the price. This is as cheap as you will find for a TV with a spec like this. The only one difference between this and equivalent spec TV's is the refresh rate. At 50Hz it's not quite as good as the 100Hz models further up the LG range, but still excellent quality. Don't be afraid to play with the settings, as a little twekaing from the factory presets will get you as close to true black as you can get.

There is only one bad point! being as everyone is trying to cut back on bills, i like to switch the television off completely and not leave it on stand by. There is no on or off switch, only stand-by button

Wonderful clear, bright picture. So easy to set up and use. Feels like being at the cinema. DVD viewing is now transformed and we also enjoy looking at our digital pictures using the inbuilt SD card reader.

The Speaker Quality Isn't Amazing Like The Rest Of The Package, I Would Recommend External Speakers. When I Play Music Through The TV The Speaker Vibrate Because They Can't Withold The Bass!

You have to work on getting the picture right with SD input. TruMotion/Cinema settings can make films look a bit like a home movie.

Best all round LCD 42 TV I brought. It has extra feature like bluetooth, USB for music and photo viewing and it's 100 hertz.

Slight ghosting on things like mouse cursor and text when connected to a PC. Setting HDMI input label to 'PC' does not fix this, but really, it's not a major problem and doesn't matter for films and TV.

This is a great product, I love watching the natural world wilod animals, birds, mountains, sea in fact everything as this tele makes you feel you are there. Fantastically easy to set up with the plug recognition nand for me 32" is just the right size for my house or any house I'm likely to be in. My daughter, best friend and I all bought one on the same day and we all think it was our best purchase in a TV yet.

Loving glass bezel, there is no plastic border on the screen it looks very nice. Picture quality is great and even better in FULL HD. Nice a big all my friends love it. AV modes are great. Able to tweak picture quality is really good. No picture burning which is also a relief. Lots of input connectors. Quick to start up and shut down, lots of flat screens take forever like Samsungs! Tons of featurs like bluetooth. Was a fantastic price and value for money is important.

Not sure I like the 'scarlet' trim around the screen.

Very sleek design. Excellent picture quality with good contrast, especially when playing upscaled DVDs using HDMI. XBOX 360 games like amazing on this television. As yet I have not noticed any flicker during fast moving scenes so it appears that the 100hz aspect of the tv works well. Another bonus is the ammount of HDMI ports. As yet have not tried the USB port or bluetooth connections, nor have I looked at JPEG (photographs) or video camera footage.

Great to hang on Grandsons wall,to use for TV, X-Box & Computer Screen. He likes it's design and is more than happy with it's Technical capabilities for his particular use.

Its a good looking tele, great value over xmas when purchased, not used the tele to full potential yet as haven't got it hooked up to any HD feed, but the SD picture is more than acceptable, certainly better than it looks in the shop, nice to be able to watch digital photos on the tele, rather than just on your pc. Lots of calibration settings to enable you to get the picture you like.

great value for money and it is very beautiful and elegant, love the sound feels like im at the cinema!!

Like the simple style without too much bling around the edge. Minimum width for size of screen. Excellent picture quality.

Close up of people's faces in some films.Faces seem to wobble like jelly when in motion. Does not seem to happen with live tv eg News Channels etc. Is this an HD thing and/or specific to all LCD tvs? Not noticable in other motion programmes like sports. I find the handset volume and channel finder,in opposite positions to other handsets...but just a question of getting used to it.

brought this tv after looking at the samsung and found the picture quality much better and the look of it,found it very easy to install and the sound is good to.and also it doesn't throw that much heat out like the samsung. its a yes from me but shop around on the price

Picture and sound quality is very good along with the slim linedesign which does not look too intrusive in a small lounge like ours.

Would like to see less power consumption
