The machine itself is great but the screen feels a little small compared to others although it is only 1" smaller than most others. I have only had it for 3 weeks but so far so good, no real complaints. |
Great battery life for a portable computer. This is the first machine I have had where the quoted battery life is actually realistic. Hope the battery keeps this performance - time will tell! Perfect size - 1024 resolution on 10" screen far better than the 800 on the smaller screened 8.9" machines. Feels well made. Keyboard not as small as you would expect for such a small computer - have not had any trouble mis-typing sue to smaller key spacing. No problems/faults....everything working exactly as it should be. |
The mouse buttons feel better than the 3634wlmi, but still a bit flimsy - hope they last better. Shame it doesn't have bluetooth or TV-in, but that's just wishfull thinking and not what I bought them for. |
Keyboard feels nice to use. Attractive looking item. Powers up very quickly. |
Looks good, feels good, does what I want it to do |
Fantastic Looking design, but robust enough for every day use. Good size keyboard with quality feel. Good size hard drive. There will always be a trade off between battery life & weight, and I think this little beauty has got it right. It runs fairly cool and quietly as well. This is a fantastic bit of kit for the money. |
Why do Acer do bent charger plugs? They get twisted and they move around in the connection because of the L shape. Why dont they use straight plugs? The sound isnt as good as Id thought it would be (although I havent played with all the settings yet I dont think). The plastic edging around the laptop feels a bit sharp and cheap. |
Weight, battery life, keyboard, overall quality feel |
It is a bit heavy but that's not a big problem,in many ways it feels sturdy and solid. The battery only lasts about 2 hours, but it comes with the mains cable, so I haven't come across any real problems with this notebook. |
it collects a lot of dust and fingerprints, and i feel like im always cleaning it. |
very good keyboard design and feels a solid product |
touch pad too small and you can't feel the edges of the touchpad in low light. would like to see the netbook bundled with linux. I'd love to have 1280x800 resolution in a 10" format. No builtin 3G |
Looks beautiful, and feels like a quality product. Useful Empowering Technology give quick access to info such as battery life, sound settings etc. I'm new to Vista so took some getting used to after XP, but it looks and works great, especially the holographic view to switch between open programs. This computer also has Vista Home Premium installed. Overall it really is a great, well made, compact little machine which makes my old 15" laptop look like a dinosaur!. I'd recommend the Acer to anyone. |
Quite heavy but does feel 'meaty' in a quality kind of way. If you want portability then I guess look elsewhere but as a replacement for a desktop it's ideal. The battery seems to discharge quickly so I tend to keep it plugged in. |
Only thing I'd say is the DVD RW drive feels a bit flimsy... |
Does everything you would expect for the money. Looks good and feels robust. |
Slightly plasticky feel but for the price no real bad points |
Battery life is less than I expected, and the keyboard while it looks good, feels a bit 'tinny' to the touch. The mouse buttons sometimes less reactive than I would want. |
I selected on the basis of processor speed, memory, blu-ray, for the price. After extensive research the product offered excellent value for money with good aesthetics. Perfectly meets requirement of internet, basic word + excel functions, video and decent look and feel. |
Large screen, fast, good performance, built in webcam, plenty of space for resting wrists when typing. It feels very comfortable to use. |
Nice easy key board to use, keys have a positive feel. Fast and responsive when turning on or connecting to the internet. Easy to carry |
Good Battery Life and wide screen. Good Build Quality. Feels more expensive than it is. |
lovely design and feel, looks more expensive. processing power and RAM memory is good. screen is clear and bright, sometimes bit flickery and glare. |
Larger clear screen, number keypad, very easy to get going on it - good idiot's guide, feels a quality product. Overall, a good spec, nicely packaged at a good price. |
Key board feels a little weak sometimes. |
Small, light, looks good. Feels well built. Performs well. Screen is very nice - bright and good colours. |
Track pad buttons feel a little plasticky Some buttons in odd places if you're used to a proper keyboard battery life could be better (3 hours ish) |
compact, good keyboard, works fine, easy to stop and start, light and feels reasonably robust and very good price for a simple computer which was what I was looking for. |
The blu-ray drive sometimes won't shut properly, and whether that's a problem with the design or something that's unique to my particular machine I don't know. The keyboard feels solid but doesn't really have a lot of travel in it, and some of the lights for caps lock and num-lock and things are difficult to see. |
Not enough RAM to handle Windows Vista at a suitable speed. Combining with virus software makes the machine virtually unusable. Cheap feel to materials and small track pad |
Nothing spings to mind except could be cheaper ;-) That said would not want ANY corners to be cut as many other Netbooks have poor build quality / cheap feeling keyboards etc.. |
At the time of writing I feel it has the best collection features required in a netbook. after having a 15" laptop with a 6 cell battery it is a joy to have such a lightweight unit, so portable....and after being on it for hours finding you still have hours of battery life left, the 15" drained after a few hours. Keyboard and screen are first rate.......trackpad is small works fine, but I prefer a usb mouse. Has a quality feel and my rating for value for money is based on the fact that I am sure there is not a better netbook on the market at this price. I docked a point with some other features just based on the fact that nothing is perfect.;-p |
Still trying to get to grips with the mousepad, but there are lots of customisable options. Sometimes it feels too top heavy with the screen open but I think it's just a case of adjusting until comfortable. |
Good software packsge but microsoft office expires after 60 days leaving you feel a little cheated that you have to purchase the software. |
Nice looks and tactile feel. Does what it says on the tin. Battery life is exceptionally good |
Keyboard feels good to use. The area to support arms/hands is good. Mousepad very responsive although sometimes too much so - see below. |
None, except keyboard does not feel terribly sturdy. Overall extremely happy with the product. |
I like Dell It is robust enough for home use. It has clear pictures and a large window due to its size. Good I imagine for older users. It will store plenty of photos and play back video content quickly. I feel I trust it to do whatever I need it to do and I feel it will last a long time. My daughter REALLY uses hers (MSNing etc and tons of photos) |
17" screen Keyboard is the same as a desktop with numeric keys on the right hand side Feels sturdy Built in webcam and bgood speakers Light scribe disk drive |
it feels quite heavy compared to other laptops i've held. its a shame its only 1gb memory, but i have done some research and am able to buy extra. |
very good quality screen, feels like good quality, not flimsy but solid, fast and reliable so far |
It looks very sleek and feels very nice as smooth as the snow outside |
Feel of the mouse pad, it can be quite sensitive. |
good overall performance with sturdy construction and quality feel, addition of numeric keypad a bonus. Blu ray performance is faultless, hdmi connection to enable playback on larger screen. bundled HP software and support through product registration. |
Good graphics card, solid feel nice design |
a beautiful fast up to the second styling with all the connnections you will ever need with bags and bags of memory and hard drive,i am sure i will never out grow this lap top, also great for watching hi definition tv and films oh and the speakers are bliss you can simply float away on your top tunes or feel the axe chopping up the zombies. This is one present to myself i will be enjoing for a long time |
Design, look and feel |
Excellent Keyboard - big enough to use comfortably; big hard drive and lots of RAM compared to other similar sized models; ultra-portable, but doesn't feel uncomfortably small when using; looks like a proper lap-top just mini sized, rather than like a toy. |
value to performance ratio, weight and feel. |
Great design, feel and colour, good sized keyboard and screen without being too big. |
Noisy disc drive, feels cheaply put together, dissappointing from Toshiba |
The laptop comes self loaded with the standard programmes. It has a good battery life, The keyboard feels great and is very responsive when typing at all speeds |
Everything about it is good in comparison to other netbooks on market. Battery life, keyboard feel, screen, speed etc. |
size of screen and ease of use with windows vista which i was surprized its a nice sleek style colour is good keyboard and arrow pad have a good feel about them |
I feel that the only bad point with the above laptop is the windows vista, when i am installing something it keeps wanting authorisation from the administrator but i am the only user of the laptop so that can be quite annoying. |
A quiet and responsive machine, however the large screen is a drain on the battery life. That said, it is proving to be an excellent all round performer and considering the price, i don't feel that it could be beat at the time. Ideal for the starter who wants to futureproof with minimum cost. |
The screen quality is good, the keyboard feels great and the overall look and feel is very good. |
The design, nice lightweight laptop, clear screen, good feel to keyboard. |
as a new laptop user I find it very sensitive and have mistakenly deleted the wrong e-mail messages so I feel I will get a mouse to use. Otherwise it is very quick and convenient to use. |
The laptop can feel hot if you are on it for a few hours. It is big and bulky but for the size of screen and contents i suppose you have to expect it. I can not compare this laptop to any other as this is my first laptop we have had. The battery power can get extremely hot which does not seem right to me. |
Excellent laptop for use by the whole family. Feels 'solid' - I confidently let my 7 year old use it. Extremely easy to set up - connected to my existing wireless network automatically. Had no difficutly networking with my desktop and printer. I've been using Dell PCs for years. I find them extremely reliable. |
It's heavier than you might expect for its size, my compact work laptop (Dell Latitude D430) feels lighter. Lack of optical drive makes things a little fiddly but true of all netbooks. |
nice feel to keyboard, light to carry, a feel of being long lasting a well made. |
Very stylish laptop with a very clear big screen. Whole thing feels sturdy and I like the keyboard. |
When I compare it with the previous one that I had and the other ones my family and friends have got , I feel realy good about the value for the money I`ve paid. |
battery life, feels a bit cheap |
This is a great computer - easy to use and has a lovely look and feel. |
The battery seems to last forever. Small design with a big feel. Excellent sized keyboard and screen, no more horizontal scrolling on web pages unlike 7" screen on my previous netbook. |
Great all round, surprising punch and performance. It's only going to be top end gaming etc that you can't do on this. Bought as student tool for daughter....I want one now, my Lenovo thinkpad feels like some sort of malformed hulk!!! |
An impressive amount of memory, and both keyboard and screen are great quality. I wouldn't believe the battery time though; presumably you can get that time if you don't so much as breathe on the laptop, but the moment you want to actually want to use it, it eats power. If you're also hoping to run a usb DVD drive off it, you might get the length of a movie out of it. Still the best on the market though - it just bothers me that they feel the need to exaggerate. To date, it seems the best netbook out there by far, though like all its peers, it seems to suffer from rather cheap plastic interior bezels once you've opened that wonderful shiny lid. Aside from that, build quality seem great to date; to give a comparison, I've previously had the ultra-compact Vaio and a neat little Compaq tablet. This one stands head and shoulders above its present competitors. |
Maybe if you have big hands the keyboard might feel a bit cramped. The touch pad could be a bit larger. |
Good machine. Cheap for the 120GB hard drive. Feels sturdy and is yet to break. |
feels cheap, takes a long time to boot up, mouse touch pad and buttons very awkward |
Bought this for my son and he is overjoyed! Got it in Blue which looks really cool. Light yet feels well made. Webcam great, screen great - really love it. May buy another one for myself |
The Sony Vaio case styling is second to none, great lines and curves, feels solid and well made. |
I think it needs something to use to pull the screen up and down. I feel like I am going to damage it each time I open it. A small catch or something would be great. |
feels a bit misjointed - screen to main body. |
Very good battery life Nearly standard-sized keyboard Desk-top PC spec in a tiny package. Overall design and feel (I chose a blue one) |
It is well worth spending that little bit extra on the most expensive option as the whole netbook feels and looks very classy and well made. Performance is fab, and the battery life is phanominal, even when I first got the laptop out of the box i was running it on battery whilst installing, Norton security, microsoft office, scanning for viruses everything that usaully sucks the power out of a battery but it still lasted 5 hours!!! This is a great netbook and I highly reccommend it to anyone. |
Superb size and weight Clear screen Sturdy feel to it Ideal for surfing the net/MSN |
Boots up quickly, runs Office 2007 without problems, screen size and resolution fine for web/email/Office, keyboard rigid, well-designed and usable with a bit of practice. Battery life 5 hours 20 mins on auto speed, moderate usage, wireless and bluetooth enabled - very impressive. Fan almost inaudible - brilliant. Overall a light, compact, working tool that feels like it will withstand a lot of punishment. I've started leaving my bulky laptop at home. |
Fast processor, lots of memory, lightweight design, keyboard has a nice feel about it when typing. Screen is clear and bright, overall an excellent laptop and excellent value for money. |
Nice machine asthticly pleasing and a 'nice' feel |
Fantastic battery life - nearly 8 hours! Great connectivity through built-in bluetooth, SD card reader & wireless. Good size keyboard. Generally quick performance wise. Comes with XP for a real laptop feel. Excellent build quality, weight & style. Comes with a neat protective wallet & small charger with long lead. Screen quality is excellent. Half the size of a standard laptop. |
Its just a well built small version of a laptop with good battery life albeit without an optical drive. It's got enough RAM, HDD space and it comes with XP so installing programs is a breeze. After 2 minutes the keyboard feels quite natural to use despite its 93% full size. It also looks quite smart too. |
Excellent size and real portability, keyboard has a full size feel and screen is very clear. Battery life is OK but could be better. |
Good bright clear screen, Keyboard key travel and feel just right |
Love the feel of the keyboard and the width of the screen. It has a real feel of quality - substantial but not bulky in any way. Slim, sleek and stylish. |
Looks good, feels good, great value for money. |
Well built, feels a quality product. quick start up. Excellant battery life. |
Nice size and feel, shiny look and nice colour, good size memory, storage capacity and speed comes with windows and wireless ready to go from the box, what more can I say but I like it and the price was right.. |
Very quick to set up,Mouse and keyboard have a nice feel.Really impressed.Definatley would recommend. |
Bought this as an Xmas present for computing novice husband. Feels substantial and looks smart. Screen is clear and a good size. Have only used it on mains power supply so could not score battery life fairly. |
It looks and feels like a much more expensive laptop. |
Track pad and buttons are not easily distinguished from the rest of the computer body so you find your fingers drifting off the pad only you can't feel it. |
build quality is reasonable, but could be better. the screen edges on both lhs & rhs are sharp, when u hold the screen as though you was about to close it with your finger tips. The screen feels it will seperate from the rest of the lid |
keys feel cheap poor sound (not a big factor but noticeable) could boot quicker |
Battery life really is very good and the keyboard is well proportioned. Feels well made. |
It feels solid and well made. Everything works just out of the box and it runs Windows XP, NOT VISTA. Battery life is excellent |
The screen is the smallest that's truly workable. Its amazing what difference there is even between a 9" and a 10.1" screen such as this. The keyboard too is extremely tactile and feels like a full size one. The battery life is very good indeed giving at least five hours at full power take, around 7-8 if doing light work. The screen clarity and general performance is brilliant and even good in harsh light. The weight is perfectly tolerable and the whole machine looks great. The HDD is huge for such a machine and the provided RAM, graphics card and general processor speed cope very capably with even the biggest of graphic applications. I can't recommend this machine enough! |
i feel its an easy to use computer, lightweight and compact |
A 10/10 laptop, it has everything in a small package, the laptop seems thick and heavy with all the features but it's actually very light. It's cute with a 14 inch screen and the performance is perfect, definately what you would expect from a laptop with 4gb ram. The unique keys makes the laptop design even better, it's unique and it feels so light to type, easy to clean too as dirt and dust won't get trapped in between keys anymore. Everything about this laptop is perfect. I'd definately recommend it to any girl especially, who are looking for a high performance laptop. |
Keyboard good size and feel |
Grey screen could get dirty easily. Quite heavy. Feels a bit plasticky. |
Feels 'solid', seems well thought out. |
Great robust design, stylish, nice materials, looks and feels as though its built to last |
Casing feels cheap, but is robust enough. |
its got a great feel to it. great speakers for music, slick design |
Smart looking, well built feels strong and well manufactured no squeaky or flexible plastic construction here. Comes with neat velour type protective case to prevent scratches etc. Preinstalled with full version of Windows XP Home, not cut down or Linux OS as on some other notebooks. Despite small size, screen is clear and easy to read; (small tip here, enable the Windows "auto hide taskbar" feature - right click taskbar select properties and put tick in appropriate box. This lowers taskbar when not in use and gives more screen area, makes a big difference) Also try using 'F11' key as this enlarges window on some progs such as Internet Explorer. Battery life seems excellent so far, in excess of 4 hours with plenty still remaining. Keyboard is almost full size and easy to use, only difference is number pad is missing but this is no big deal and soon get used to it. |
DVI-D socket on docking station does not work with Intel integrated graphics. If you are right handed and pick the laptop on the right hand side, this is where the DVD/CD tray is and it feels a little flimsy just at that point. |
look is good, good design, good feel, easy n light to carry, has updated vista version |
Solid construction, nice keyboard. Battery life very good, especially like the software battery tools and diagnostics. Overall i have no regrets buying this laptop. For some it may look old fashioned, but for me i prefer a solid machine that feels like it is'nt going to fall apart in 18 months. |
A fantastic piece of kit for anyone from the layman who wants to type, communicate and develop as a user, to the travelling business person who needs to coordinate. The style and feel of the laptop is perfect for everyone. I found the camera and microphone fantstic for instant and clear video conferencing as I talk to France on a regular basis. It's an understated and beautifully designed unit that even my technophobe Mother can navigate with complete ease. The Acer Empowering Technology is a cracking invention that has aided me to fine tune my files and programs without any hassle. All in all, fantastic value for money for any type of user, sleek and dynamic appearance and feel and brilliant performance. |
I love the design of the laptop and how it feels. Performance is good as well |
Keyboard has a bit of a tacky feel (but of course works fine). Screen image has a relatively narrow angle of optimum vision. |
1. This Laptop and other Toshiba systems are quite big and bulky in comparison to other makes of laptop with similar spec. 2. DVD/CD Drive was very loose and flimsey, didn't give the feeling of robustness it's going to need. 3. The system doesn't give an overall confident feeling due to the poor quality workmanship (e.g. Flimsey screen and DVD/CD drive) |
it feels really cheaply made, the keyboard is bouncy when you hit the keys, the flashy strips are peeling off after 2 uses and the case moves where the card readers and cd slots are. |
Battery life is ok, but could be better. The CD drive feels slightly flimsy. |
It's a mac - ie reliable, doesn't crash. Solid build. Feels nice to use. Completely portable. Integrates perfectly with the peripherals I have bought to go with it, and using it with Apple Logic, software and hardware also integrate perfectly. |
Looks great, feels great. The keyboard types nicely and there is a great quality feel overall about the hardware. Features like the wireless detecting button are very handy and innovative. Screen is very nice and the dell preinstalled features are very good. Excellent value for money. I would recommend this to anyone. |
too slow, takes ages to boot into operating system , prone to hanging , wireless pop on and off when it feels liek it |
Gorgeous design, looks and feels well built, easy to use. |
Feels somewhat plastic however this is their entry level 17" |
Lot faster than previous computer. Nice feel to keyboard and like the large screen monitor that comes with it, which is great for editing my photos. |
Appallingly unreliable in operation, screen goes blank frequently requiring restart (which is why I'll be taking this back under warranty - it even did it while I was completing this review which was finished on another computer!); wireless performance poor and weak compared to an Asus EeePC on the same wireless network, losing connection frequently and often causing wireless adapter to become unresponsive and causing complete system lockup; trackpad small and fiddly; battery performance poor (though this is forgivable at this price); although the chassis design is attractive, in use it feels cheapy and tacky so the lack of reliability comes as no great surprise |
For some reason, the battery is at the back of the machine. This means that when the screen is opened to a comfortable angle, there is a tendency for the whole thing to tip over backwards. It gives a rather unbalanced feeling when using it on your lap. Having the screen-surround in black (while the machine itself is white) gives a rather clumsy 'blanking-piece' look to what would otherwise be a very elegant little machine. I realise that the intention was to use the same case for a larger screen in the later model, but that hardly justifies not at least using a white screen-surround. |
The computer allows no-nonsense computing in an unobtrusive package. The full qwerty keyboard allows an easy transition from full-size computers to this much smaller device. In the gap between laptop and pda, it sits far closer to the laptop, unlike the new minibook (one of which I returned to Maplin about fifteen minutes ago). The case is robust and has the feel of something that will take a few hard knocks with no ill effects... although I haven't put that to the test! They have very wisely avoided a hard disc, so there are no moving parts to go wrong. It is simple to use, thoroughly intuitive, and thanks to its being furnished with a linux-based operating system, anti-virus software is a problem someone else has, at least for the time being. It's the kind of computer that would suit not only those with a fully featured main computer, but also the occasional internet and computer user. |
Wasn't perfect out of the box. Needed a firmware update to resolve issue where the laptop would often shut down 2 seconds after turning tit on. Wi-fi was very flaky or not working at all until new drivers for it was installed. No more problems after these things were done, but I feel that it should not have been necessary in the first place and would probably have put off a lot of casual users or less computer savvy people. |
Bright clear sharp screen. Wireless works perfectly with my router over a good distance outside my home.I like the feel of the keyboard when I press the keys - right amount of springiness. |
Since this is my first laptop i cant say for sure if the battery is bad or not as have no comparison. Just feel it could do better than the hour to hour and a half i get from it after a full charge. |
Size is just right. Keyboard is excellent for its size, with a good 'feel'. Everything (the computer, bluetooth, wi-fi internet connections) worked perfectly, straight out of the box. The screen display is, literally, brilliant. Sharp, and can be as bright as you will ever need. The supplied software is basic but useful. THERE WAS NO RUBBISH! There were no 'trial versions' that needed uninstalling - this was a nice clean computer. |
feels a little delegate in regards to build and the power adapter gets very hot in a short period of time. |
Quality feel. Great graphics and screen image. Compact design. Good keyboard. |
Amazing colour on the screen, very sturdy construction, feels very good to type a long essay on, matte finish looks a lot better than my friends gloss finish laptop. |
Mine was a refurbished model and it really caused me problems. I ended up having a new monitor. The PC switches itself off for configuration updates whenever it feels like it. Not sure if this is a common thing with all models. |
The keyboard is the best part. It fills the width of the netbook, its keys are a good size, it feels well made and it's responsive. |
Size, weight, touch and feel, features. |
I would have preferred fewer signs of use - despite it being a rework. The keyboard and mouse pad feel a little 'lightweight'. |
Build quality is fine, but overall the laptop feels a bit flimsy especially when typing on the keyboard, but nothing has actually broken on it. |
icons difficult to get used to keeps disconnecting from internet can't read certain discs eg Windows disc not recognised feel windows should be standard |
Lolve the choice of colour... felt that no full program was a con....like the style and useability of the item but feel it could be lighter.... |
clear large screen, nice keyboard (general feel and responsiveness) & processor performs relatively well. |
Look, feel and quality. |
Feels abit delicate |
The design is OK though the dvd/cd drawer is quite weak and I have a feeling it will break if I don't take care. Otherwise I have had no problems with it. |
Good looking, lightwieght and easy to use laptop. High quality display. Caters for all basic computing needs at a very good price. The 4 USB slots are very handy as well as the multi-card reader. Keyboard has a nice feel to it - the keys are very responsive and but too light/plasticy. |
Looks good, feels good, works well, fast and once it's had the vista updates is quite stable. |
Really quick and affordable laptop, I love the size of the screen but being a girl i feel its a little heavy and big, my husband on the other hand loves everything about it. |
CD tray feels very flimsy and looks like it could break if you accidently knocked it! But other than the the build quality seems very good. |
Keyboard feels a little "cheap" |
Good sized quality feel keyboard. Lightweight good for travel. |
Razor sharp picture and large screen image is great for watching blu-ray discs.Just has that Sony quality feel |
Good modern design and appearance. Great screen for colours, pictures, DVDs and a good size for large spreadsheets.Good feel to the keyboard - quiet and soft without being rubbery, good tactile feedback. |
nice design, like it feels good. Pity XP not available as would be much faster. but thats vista for you. |
Feel it needs a memomry upgrade. |
Sturdy construction. Its the first time I have used a laptop that I feel comfortable with. The inbuilt extras such as the webcam are a real plus. Keyboard is a pleasure to use. |
The keys feel like they are not very durable. |
Big bright screen. Feels solid. |
I haven't had chance yet to properly test this item so I am unable to comment on battery life. However, even from limited home usage - domestic accounts, college work etc the early indications are that the machine will fulfill all of my notepad requirements. It certainly looks and feels good. I wouldn't be able to tell this apart from a new machine so I consider that the notepad was/is a snip at the price. |
Powerful enough to do what you want ie watch DVD`s,browse the internet, stream video, and maybe even open the occasional word doccument. Pretty enough so that when you open it on the train all the Dell users get upset, but no as cliched as a Mac. Has a much higher quality feel to the casing than all the others I tried in the same price bracket. |
firstclass product, can not really fault it at all. lovely feel to the keyboard & trackpad & very fast response on screen. I did a great deal of research deciding on the advent notebook & i would like to say that i now have a network of one desktop, one laptop and one notebook. |
Beautifully designed laptop. A work of art - screen was fairly glossy but this is not always a good thing due to reflections. Nice mouse buttons - gimicky facial recognition log-on feature though quite fun! Mouse pad has very good feel unlike most HP laptops which I found to be very sticky. Useful spare bay to add a second hard drive for extra storage. Really good speakers for a laptop - second only to Acer 6920G which has a subwoofer built in. |
Of course we are talking about a cheap laptop here, and its my first laptop, but I have a few comments. Firstly it feels as though it won't last very long, keys are lose and the whole thing has a very flimsy feel to it. The sound is quite poor too, the volume doesn't go high enough for my liking. Battery life is very very poor. But as i said above, its a cheap machine so perhaps you pay for what you get. I don't dislike it, but I had higher expectations. I just have to get used to it now. |
Looks and feels solidly built |
Good feel to the keyboard and smart keys are excellent |
Light, compact and very attractive design on the . The pen tablet feature is great, the pen has wacom technology so works really well. Lots of buttons on the screen part which open up the media center. there is also a button to change the orientation of the screen, allowing you to have it portrait of landscape. bought it so i could use it as a digital sketchbook and so far it works well. Pen also neatly tuks away in a little hole and it feels like it wont fall out |
Reasonable weight and size, good performance, attractive on the outside, good features, great feel to the keyboard. I am pleased with my notebook. |
nice feel to key board |
design basically. i also purchased a more expensive laptop which has better keys looks better and feels better basically the difference between a basic car and the luxury model |
sometimes difficult to connect to the internet. To update itself it closes down when it feels like it and loses any work/whatever was being done. |
Loads up quickly. Meaty spec. Comes with a good selection of software. Looks and feels nice. |
nice look and feel good build quality Good processor very good value for money, I have seen machines with much inferior specs, for a lot more money. |
Good display, good keyboard, plenty of features & connectivity options for the price. Wireless networking works well. Slim design & feels well built. Very competitive price at time of purchase. |
great speed, good performance, good quality of sound and vision if watching films etc. I've had no problems so far and feel it was money well spent |
Dual Core, 2GB Ram, Nvidia Graphics, Overall feels very nice and responsive. |
Great Graphics. Good sound build you can tell this is a quality product from the feel of the keyboard down to the looks allround |
The laptop has a unique design making it feel more personal than other laptops. Performance is brilliant - I've not had any problems with using multiple programmes / tasks all at once. The laptop plays games with perfect graphics which my previous laptops couldn't do. I would say this laptop is ideal for students and people who want an all rounder laptop rather than for a specific use. |
light and simple to operate. Feels like new |
very good sound ,feels very good quality overall compared with others at the price, lots of new features to learn I am very happy with my purchase good value for money |
the battery would apear to have been duff when purchased. Gave it to my grandson as a present a couple of weeks after purchase and it works perfect with the mains pluged in but will not run at all off the battery and the battery will not charge. I feel as if I have been ripped off a bit. |
Portable, very light (1KG) yet performs just as well as most desktops - i have office 2007 and Adobe CS3 running just fine on it. My own (vastly higher spec) desktop doesnt see much use any more! Decent size keyboard compared to other portables. Screen is very high quality. included installation of XP is quite clean, didnt feel the need to start it from scratch. Good value for money! |
its a good size screen - the keys feel good - its clear. It's good price to introduce my grand kids with . |
Good screen and easy to operate. Solid and substantial feel. Quick to set up and run. Good 'wireless' sourcing. |
Great quality screen, solid feeling keyboard and all the connectivity for anything you'd like to connect to it. Comes with seperate recovery cd and software to create drivers only cd. |
The keyboard deosn't necessarily feel "substantial". When I type at speed it doesn't give me that "you have pressed the keys" feel. |
Design, the size of the screen, and the construction, it feel sturdy and reliable so far. |
Been a windows user all my computer life, switched to this Mac. Excellent build and feels solid. Operating system very intuitive. Love using it |
feels like quality |
Battery life is terrible. Feels big and cumbersome. |
Screen Quality - Brilliant! (Sorry for the pun) Keyboard has a good feel to it Performance, very quick |
Feels a bit flimsy, though I did drop mine down a short flight of stairs and there were no ill effects. And runs very hot when using graphics intensive applications. |
bad battery life, good have a slightly more robust feel to it. |
solid feel, good looks and is faster than my pc!! |
To be very picky, the lid feels flimsy and too flexibleI to offer any real protection to the screen. If I was travelling as I used to, Im not sure it would stand up to the job. |
Beautiful design, light but not cheap feeling and incredibly easy to use. |
I love this laptop. The picture quality, the sound quality, the feel of the keys on the keyboard, the clearness of the built-in webcam, and the general speed of the computer - all brilliant. The other thing is the great look of the laptop - the blue lights are great (much envied by my friends!), and I love the cream colour of the keyboard and surrounding case. The glass screen and the lid are also gorgeous! I would very much recommend this laptop to anyone. |
We haven't properly tested the battery life yet but so far it isn't as good as we'd have hoped. Although it feels a solid design there are a couple of places where some small movement occurs whilst typing that shouldn't be the case. The surface under the keyboard where the arrow keys are located moves when those keys are pressed (it is directly above the space of the DVD tray) and where our left wrist rests on the case above the wireless switch the case flexes a little. It might be just our version as a DV2750 in a shop didn't have these features but otherwise I suspect the lack of supporting mass under those areas is the reason but that is not really acceptable given the price. |
the hardware is plenty good enough to run any game/software app sony keep releasing regular automatic updates it just feels like its been well built |
Keyboard feels loose when pressing keys on the left hand side of the keyboard |
The price its fast it looks nice and feels weel made |
Screen a little too small. Keyboard can be a little awkward to use; not as easy to type quickly as with full size one. Processor too slow if you want to do much more than usual office tasks, such as video. Linu operating system is awkward for adding new software: list of programs limited and user needs familiarity with the OS to feel confident in adding new software. Not enough onboard memory. |
