It does appear to be powerful enough for a family size house and even picks up needles from Christmas tree which I understand not all vacuum cleaners do! My last machine was an electrolux which I had for over 20 years so couldn't help comparing the two. </p><p>Took a while to get used to it. Found it hard work to use if not at the right height. With the correct attachment it is easier. Quiet.
