Gadget watch - dual screen laptop

gScreen dual screen laptop

There’s a new dual screen laptop on the block and it comes courtesy of gScreen Corp. The two screens on the G400 are of equal size – both 15.4 inch backlit LEDs, so you can work seamlessly on a very spacious canvass. The G400 also comes with up to 8 GB of RAM, up to 500GB hard drive, 6 USB 2.0 ports, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz T9600 or P8400 2.26-GHz and the Quadro FX 2700M or GeForce 9800M GT from Nvidia.

Not too shabby. Of course, the double vision does mean that it’s a bit on the heavy side. The G400 weighs in at 3.49kg and is due to be released on 25th February. No word on price yet but we’ll keep you posted.

Read on my lips: H.O.A.X.

AL - unfortunately your brain is too narrow minded to comprehend uses for a dual screen laptop. As a Software Developer, I would love to have such a machine - it makes my life so much easier. I know architects, engineers, graphics designers, web designers and loads of other people who would love to have a dual-screen laptop. People like us work with multiple applications open at the same time, and need the extra desktop space.

Its a pity that your teeny weeny brain could only come up with “watching a movie” as a use for a dual monitor laptop. Tsssk!!!!

Very nice. I would love one of these. I’m wondering how te screens fold down without sticking out of the sides? from this picture, it seems like they slide to the left or right of the laptop and then fold inward but its not clear. Especially for graphic design, id like to also see it with a touch screen.

I am currently running two monitors on my desk top and it is great. I can’t imagine working without the dual screens anymore. Quite practical… if people only knew…

Yeah.. there’s a lot of us people who NEED the screen space for running multiple applications and tasks.

@Saajid.. about AL.. might be a bit mean, but.. right on bud!
