Top Five: Satellite Navigation Systems

We gave you the news yesterday that the weekend wasn’t going to be a great one in terms of weather so for those of you that will be using the car more, we thought we’d put together a list of the top 5 satellite navigation systems, rated by the people who’ve bought them. We thought we go a bit James Bond and look at sat navs with voice control.

1. The top rated sat nav with a rating of 9/10 is the TTomTom GO-520 MUSIC. Shoppers love how easy it is to use along with it’s great value for money. One shopper summed it up quite nicely "Great spec at an excellent price".

2. Coming in a close second is the TomTom Go 520 Traffic with a rating of 8.9/10 and big plus points for design and user friendliness. Although some people did have a few issues with the traffic feature.

3. With a rating of 8.7/10, the TomTom Go 720 is in third place. Shoppers noted its great design and large screen for better visibility.  One lady described it as an "Excellent GPS - no issues with losing the signal. Clear mapping with good voice instructions." There were a few comments about short battery life and problems working out how to use certain functions though.

4. Fourth is the TomTom GO 920T EU/N.AM with 8.6/10. Its clear screen is very popular with shoppers as is its connection to your mobile. However some people did have problems with inaccurate maps.

5. Fifth is the Sony NVU82G, the only non-Tom Tom system of the bunch. With the same score of 8.6/10 as the TomTom Go 920T, the Sony loses out on its ease of use. Although shoppers did like its wide screen.

If you’re looking to buy a sat nav, we hope that helps you with your decision. If you’re not interested in the voice control, there are plenty more without the feature here.
