Reevoo Recommends: The Pioneer Kuro PDP 4270XD
If you are anything like me, a question you ask yourself often, over a pint or two, is ‘what is the best television on the market today?‘
That might not be a very sensible question, since we all have different tastes and wallet sizes, but if you did want to know, Reevoo has the answer.
74 confirmed purchasers have voted Pioneer’s 42" PDP4270DX plasma into the top spot with an overall score of 9.2.
Those reviewers aren’t saying that it’s the best television you could possibly get (depending on the size of your living room that might be Panasonic’s new 150 inch monster), but the best combination of quality and price.
Looking at the scores more closely, the Pioneer is rated very well for most aspects, only slipping below 9.0 for Sound Quality. That is reflected in the reviews, which are glowing overall, despite some concerns about the solitary HDMI slot - not good if you want to plug a Blu-ray player or games console into your new panel.
So what’s the catch? Well, the 4270DX is last year’s Pioneer. The main problem with that seems to be the lack of full HD capability in a 42 in screen: this model only has a 768p resolution. David from Sunderland seems happy enough though, comparing his Pioneer favourably with his Full HD Samsung: "Best contrast and colour on any tv. I have a samsung 1080p tv which is nowhere near as good. The colour looks washed out compared to the pioneer."
