Brits’ Holiday Photo Horror

 

April 2010 - Holiday pictures have spurred on over half (58%) of us to lose weight. A quarter of men were shocked by their hairline in their last holiday pictures. 42% of us have been embarrassed by holiday snaps posted on photo sharing sites. Cheryl Cole and David Beckham were voted most photogenic British celebrities. More men think they are photogenic than women

 

Holiday pictures have become a jolt of reality for Britons as shock over their appearance in summer snaps pushes two thirds of women to shed pounds and one in four men to consider a comb-over, a survey has revealed.

 

The research, commissioned by customer review website Reevoo.com as it publishes its summer camera guide, found that two in five people (42%) have had embarrassing holiday pictures of themselves posted on photo sharing sites such as Facebook for friends and family to see, with two fifths (38%) embarrassed by their weight and more than a third (35%) shamed by their drunken appearance.

 

Those surveyed were also asked to vote for the most photogenic British celebrities. Top of the poll for most photogenic British man was David Beckham, with almost half (49%) of the vote, Jude Law taking second place with 10%. The nation’s sweetheart Cheryl Cole was voted most loved by the lens with 48% of the vote and Kelly Brook came in second with 12%.

 

Despite the majority of Brits cringing at their holiday snaps, over a quarter (26%) of men still claim to be photogenic, compared with less than a fifth (19%) of women.
